You say: "Kirby had a ghost! Hell yeah!" - Lindz
5. Gastly (Pokémon series)
The highest placed Pokémon in this list. Seeing as Gastly evolves into Haunter, you might think it surprising that it is so high. But just look at him! Doesn't Gastly look cool? It may be big ball of gas with eyes and a mouth but we are told that Gastly can topple an Indian Elephant within two seconds! It can also use some good special attacks and can learn Hypnosis, making it a useful Pokémon to have in your team.
You say: "It was my first ever Pokémon card and I've always loved how dark, yet slightly cool looking it is." Hammer Bro
4. Poes (Zelda series)
At last! A ghost that was in our list also appears in yours. Sort of! We picked the Big Poes who could be found in Ocarina Of Time and Majora's Mask but you've gone for the generic Poe. And why not? After making their debut in Link To The Past, these ghostly stalwarts have appeared in all the biggest Zelda games including the aforementioned N64 adventures plus Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. We also like the Imp Poes, who only come out at night in Twilight Princess.
You say: "The Boo of the Zelda games." - Badgergamer
3. Chozo Ghosts (Metroid Prime)
Chozo Ghosts don't appear to be immediately likeable! They should be Samus' ally yet they attack her, causing her Power Suit to short circuit. They're tough to defeat without the X-Ray Visor. Maybe you pity them - after all, Phazon has corrupted the Chozo Ghosts and driven them to madness which causes them to lash out at our heroine.
You say - "The panic inducing music didn't help when these things turned up." - mandlecreed
2. Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde (Pac-Man)
Maybe having four ghosts in one position is cheating but you can't separate the Pac-Man gang. Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde are the original gaming ghosts and deserve their place near the top of the list. These fantastic four are pretty tough too - it just takes one touch from them to kill our pill-guzzling friend. If we had to pick a favourite it would be Blinky as he speeds up after a certain number of pills are eaten.
You say: "Inky, Pinky, Blinky and Clyde from Pac-Man get my vote. Especially Clyde. They're determined to fulfill their goals and are loveable." - Koopa man
We agree! Boo was our number one and he's your favourite too, receiving four times as many votes as the Pac-Man ghosts! It's not really a surprise - they're ghosts and they're also quite cute, especially when they cover their eyes when you face them. The fact that they were originally named Boo Diddley (Super Mario Bros. 3) after the 50s rock n roll star just makes us love them even more! They have gone on to star in all the best Mario games since including Super Mario World, Mario 64 and Galaxy.
You say: "Such a smart ghost. I love the fact that he chases you but he stops when you look at him." - joedot
