Nintendo Downloads! What's New?

Monkey Island, Bomberman and more...

You'll have plenty to choose from if you go shopping in the Wii or DSi stores today. A whopping seven new games are available including a new chapter of Monkey Island and Bomberman Blitz.

Tales Of Monkey Island: Chapter 3 - Lair of the Leviathan is joined by Manic Monkey Mayhem and Uno on WiiWare, Bomberman Blitz, Sudoku and A Little Bit Of All Time Classics: Family Favourites and Sudoku are available on DSiWare while Fighting Street is the sole Virtual Console release.

Tales Of Monkey Island: Chapter 3 - Lair Of The Leviathan (Telltale, 1000 Wii Points) finds Guybrush Threepwood in the belly of the beast as his quest for the voodoo exfoliating La Esponja Grande takes him through the guts of a giant sea manatee.

Monkey Island
Monkey Island
Manic Monkey Mayhem (Code Monkeys, 1000 Points) is a party game starring eight monkeys where the aim is to knock your rivals off their platforms by lobbing bananas at them.

Uno (Gameloft, 500 Points) is based on the classic card game but there are some new rule variations including 7-0 which lets players exchange their hands, and Jump-in, where you can play cards when it's not your turn. You also use Wii Speak in online multiplayer games.

Bomberman Blitz (Hudson, 500 Points) looks like it could be worth downloading simply because it appears to be a handheld version of the brilliant WiiWare game Bomberman Blast. It promises the usual bombing action with eight players, online multiplayer, new arenas and new items.

Sudoku (EA, 200 Points) boasts 100s of Sudoku puzzles and has a special Newspaper mode which lets you add a daily puzzle from your paper.

A Little Bit Of... All Time Classics: Family Favourites brings five more games from the DS title to DSiWare. There's Hearts, Contract Bridge, Dominoes, Dots and Boxes and Ludo.

Fighting Street (Capcom, 800 Points) is a Turbografx port of the original arcade version of Street Fighter. So you'll be playing as the likes of Ryu and Ken and getting involved in some 2D beat 'em up action. Street Fighter II is far better though!

Do not get Fighting Street. Its a bad fighting game and really not worth the points at all. You want a Street Fighter game, get Super Street Fighter II.

My thoughts exactly. I have enough points left for bomberman and toribash (if it's 1000). So I'll wait again, and again.

Even though I've got it on WiiWare i still might get Bomberman. It's one of those games that you can play for five minutes, but end up playing for over an hour!

So, are the DSi multiplayer games compatible with DS Download Play? If so, then they are worth considering my free wii points on

Can't wait for Super meat Boy- will it have a variant of the 'Hot Coffee' secret present in the original game? If it does, that will surely ramp up the age rating to 16+...
