This looks so good - island flyover extended into a whole game, and in 3D! What more could we want?

  2. BlueSoup8 Tuesday 22nd Feb 2011 at 09:50

Really excited about this game, Island Flyover was my favourite mode on Wii Sports Resort so this, with jet-packs and 3D glasses, will surely be a brilliant game :3

Im not sure about this game, it dosent look like it has the same feel as the orginal pilot wings. I know nintendo are trying to get people into it by using a familar place, but this just dosent appeal to me, not like the first one anyway.

They were taking the mic out of a spelling error that has now been corrected.

I would be looking forward to this game if there were more than one island. If they confirmed that, then instant buy, otherwise I'll wait.

I was excited about this game, but now I'm kind of ceptic. It seems a little slow paced for me, is it all about just exploring around and getting some points with landings and passing through rings?

  13. Chaos Zero Tuesday 22nd Feb 2011 at 11:16

Flying around in a plane was my favourite bit about Wii Sports Resort. And now we have a whole game based around it! A definite buy... once I get enough money for a 3DS that is :(

  14. MUTANTMARIO Tuesday 22nd Feb 2011 at 11:22

hmmmm still hoping they will add a couple more areas to fly around

  15. VaatiKaiba Tuesday 22nd Feb 2011 at 11:25

Really, really looking forward to this game, WuHu Island in 3D is pretty amazing. Looking forward to the various missions, as well as the Free Fly!

Definatley my launch game of choice.

  17. layton lover Tuesday 22nd Feb 2011 at 11:50

Yep, this is my launch game. I loved Island flyover and this looks epic. Some of the game modes look like great fun, and i look forward to collecting extra information points.

Hoping for some new locations though.

This looks REAL fun! like how they've kept some of the noises from resort, and it just looks real fun but nostalgic at the same time. and in 3D... stunning :P

This'll probably be the only launch game I'll be buying. The other games don't appeal to me. I'm looking forward to MK3DS and the two new Mario games, though. And Pokémon 3DS. There's so many reasons to buy a 3DS! :D

More areas to explore. Having said that, I really would love this game without additional areas.

  22. godofgta Tuesday 22nd Feb 2011 at 13:06

This game seems ok and everything but face it, after sometime you will get bored of the same island and unless theres multiplayer i can't see this being your best choice for launch.
I originally wanted to go for Metal gear solid but that's been delayed then assasins creed but thats been delayed so i'm left with splinter cell, street fighter or this. I really am unsure but hopefully once the 3ds releases in japan later this week we'll know more about each game.

Looks cool...but you know the names of the areas (The waterfall, the rocks), have they changed for pilotwings resort? Are they the names for the american version? I have no idea, but I hope they haven't changed them completely; it's little things like that that irritate me a little.

EDIT: Nevermind, i think it's the american version names.

  24. SuperLuigiYoshi Tuesday 22nd Feb 2011 at 13:18

Can anyone give me the URL? I can't view it in the ONM webpage. ¬¬

<- btw can someone tell me how to put up a profile picture?

  25. ledreppe Tuesday 22nd Feb 2011 at 13:28

I just can't get escited enough to purchase on launch day. I'd rather have Street Fighter 4 and LEGO Star Wars 3. I'll most likely get this 2nd hand sometime after launch day though!

  26. tomutwit Tuesday 22nd Feb 2011 at 15:26

basically Wii Sports Resort 3D minus 90 percent of the sports.

  27. chaz 1805 Tuesday 22nd Feb 2011 at 17:48

I'd love to see more areas than just Wuhu Island, but if extra areas haven't been announced yet, I doubt they ever will.....

  28. Mario1812 Tuesday 22nd Feb 2011 at 18:17

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG........ I HAVE PREORDERED PILOTWINGS RESORT I KNOW LOADS OF PEOPLE MOAN ABOUT FLYING AROUND JUST WUHU ISLAND AND THAT IT IS A BIT SLOW BUT WHAT IS WRONG ABOUT THAT THINK OF YOUR MII ON THE 3DS WITH THE FIRST GAME RELEASED WITH YOUR MII ON IT ,WUHU ISLANDS HAVE LOADS OF LOCATIONS AND SOME SECRET ONES YOU HAVE TO DISCOVER, AND WHAT IF IT IS A BIT SLOW IT IS IN 3D AND YOU GET TO FLY SUPER-FAST IN THREE UNIQUE VEHICLES WITH A CAMERA ASWELL!!!!! TRAILER IS AMAZING BY THE WAY... :D

I think it is that. They are definitely not the same names. In Wii Sports Resort the waterfall is shrieking falls I believe and the rocks are called Menhirs of despair...

The music reminded me of de Blob, which is always a good thing! And I love the camera.

I'm so exited as I have pre-ordered pilotwings resort from GAME for £35, does anyone know anywhere cheaper to pre-order pilotwings resort 3ds, as I may pre order somewhere else it is worth it. even with the £3 I would have lost with the GAME pre-order, it is highly unlikely it is possible though as game has just lowered the price of the 3ds online by £30 so there will probably be nowhere cheaper.(but if there is reply)

    YAY backstabbing GAME pre-order!!!! :D

  34. imbusydoctorwho Tuesday 22nd Feb 2011 at 22:20

Looks amazing but still no new areas.

  35. PokeRave Wednesday 23rd Feb 2011 at 22:39

I think Pilot wings Resort will utilise the 3DS' capabilities better than the other launch games, it just looks like there could be alot on offer in relation to the 3D effect rather than in comparison to other the launch games, just saying. :? but Kid Icarus and Mario kart will be sooo much better methinks!

Amazon.co.uk have it cheaper for £29.99 but if you pre-order the 3DS with a 3DS game or buy it on the release day I think you get it for £30 anyway. I pre-order mine from GAME aswell as a 3DS and I think they will knock £5 off on the day if I buy both together. This isn't certain but it seems to be so. Oh and the £3 gets deducted of the price when you buy the game so the deposit is just a down payment esentially :D

  37. SuperSamio64 Tuesday 1st Mar 2011 at 20:15

I'm hoping there will be a wider selection of vehicles. 3 doesn't seem like enough in my book. If its just these 3 I regret pre-ordering it.
