Sega has already explained why Mario And Sonic At The London 2012 Olympics won't feature online multiplayer modes but the Wii producer has also told Official Nintendo Magazine why the Wii version won't be compatible with the MotionPlus accessory.
The Wii MotionPlus accessory has been showcased in sports games such as Grand Slam Tennis, Tiger Woods 11 and Wii Sports Resort but Sega has decided not to make use of it for Mario & Sonic At The London 2012 Olympic Games.

Do you think Mario And Sonic At The London 2012 Olympic Games should make use of the Wii MotionPlus accessory? Or do you agree that most people don't have four MotionPlus controllers.
Of course you could get an extra MotionPlus controller if you buy Wii Play Motion

They're not even trying. Just a lazy rehash of a game that can't be improved other than with online modes and motionplus to cash in on a real-life event. A waste of money to anyone who owns the first game.
I really think Sega are missing a trick here. First no online multiplayer and now no motion plus. It sounds to me like they are making poor excuses for not putting the extra effort in to make the game special. Plenty of people have the motion plus! This will just be another mediocre party game that will sell well because of the title instead of being a game that utilises the Wii's full capabilities.
As we move towards the latter part of the Wii's life, developers should really be squeezing the maximum out of the hardware, especially with the big name titles like this.
My theory is that the developers didn't include MotionPlus in this game because they don't want cocky gamers to cheat in events by thrashing the opponents by ridiculously big margins.
seems this game is just going to be like the real 2012 games a complete failure. why not add these features as an extra option just like you can choose to use the balance board in the winter games. as said before it's like sega isn't trying
Then they should make it optional, there but not required. No online. No motion plus. == the same two games we had before.
I can see where they are coming from but it would be nice to have a bit of control options.
The last one Winter Games was a solid little game with some fun mini games that were made pretty well but there was 2 problems.
1.Online
2.Motion Plus.
Ok the Motion plus hadn't been out that long when it came out so let SEGA of the hook there but come on,whats the point of having a sport game without no one to one,I mean that what the Motion Plus was made for.
The library of games that use the Motion plus is pretty small so it would've been welcomed.
Yeah the having 4 motion pluses would cost quite a lot of money but they could've bundled it up with the game.
I bet the 2012 games game that SEGA makes for the Xbox and PS3 will have Kinect and Move support,ok kinect won't cost people loads of money for extra pheribles but the move will.
Well tbh at the end of the day,I suppose if the game is good it doesn't matter but SEGA that's a bit of a let down.
I didnt even think about this but now you mention it they could've done this. Still gonna get but... still, I suppose it is the beijing game with a few new events, dare say it will get around 90 anyway
No motionplus means there IS NO COMPETITION. like in the original, i could just shake my wrist and win every time! I wouldn't want to buy a game that couldn't be bothered to add in ESSENTIAL gaming features namely better motion controls and online. SEGA, it's pathetic!
The game is only just announced.
Already its ruined for me.
No Motion+ means NO interest from me.
Can't believe this is the same company that released games that needed, a microphone, fishing rod and fricken maracas and yet are worried about if Wii owners have 4 M+ controllers ffs.
How's about building each event to work with both options, would that be a bit too much effort eh SEGA
SEGA, do you know why nobody has motion+? It's because almost no games use it. If you at least made it compatible, then surely more people would be encouraged to buy and use it?
And I honestly don't see why we can't just have mario vs sonic platformer rather than this 'game' which if you don't change enough things in it, I will just dismiss it as shovelware, as I do with half the wii/ds games I see.
