Resident Evil Revelations demo: new details revealed

Capcom tell ONM more about the demo that will come with Mercenaries

Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata has told Official Nintendo Magazine more about the playable Resident Evil Revelations demo that will come with Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D when it's released in the UK on 1 July.

According to Kawata, the demo will be very short but it will give fans a feeling of what Resident Evil Revelations will be like.

"We have included a very short Revelations demo so you can get the feel of it," said Kawata. "The playable character will be Jill Valentine and the game takes place inside a cruise ship liner so she goes into the boat which is like a very eerie type of Resident Evil universe."

He added: "There isn't much of a storyline - it's a very short demo - but you will get a feeling of what Resident Evil Revelations will be like."

Although you won't find out any clues about the game's storyline from the demo, Kawata told us that his team is finished with the script.

"The script has been fixed and we are full-on developing the game. Revelations will be shown at the Nintendo booth at E3. You'll have to wait until E3 to find out more but everything is new from the script to the gameplay system and how we've developed the game."

Are you looking forward to playing the Resident Evil Revelations demo?

You'll be able to read the full interview with Masachika Kawata in a forthcoming issue of Official Nintendo Magazine.

Will it be a 3DS Download Play Demo or one you download online?

I don't really care about the length, it's an added bonus that's for free anyway.

Revelations looks like the game Resident Evil 4 nearly was.

Definitely looks like a great return to form for the series after that terrible re5 outing, just better not be too dumbed down or short.

it depends which one comes first though. mario bros 3ds could be out before mario kart. though i agree that this is an idea that should be used more often.

to be honest, this is one of the most exciting features of mercanaries for me. while i like a bit of arcade fun, high score chasing doesn't ever entertain me as much as a full, story-driven game.

When I pick up Mercenaries I'll be way more excited about the Revelations demo then Mercenaries itself, really can't wait for Revelations, looks absolutely amazing.
