E3 2011: Mass Effect Wii U would be 'really nice' - EA

"We'll announce it when the time is right"

Mass Effect would be a "really nice fit" for Wii U. That's according to EA Games chief Frank Gibeau.

In an interview with GameTrailers, Gibeau was asked if Mass Effect 3 would be coming to the Wii U and although he said that EA hasn't announced anything, he admitted that it would be nice.

"I can't say we are going to do it on the Wii U, but you can imagine what we could do with that controller in the Mass Effect universe. It feels like a really nice fit, but we'll announce that when the time is right."

EA also showed off a Battlefield Wii U trailer at E3.

By the time the Wii U launches, Mass Effect 3 would have probably been out for a couple of months or so on other platforms, so why not just bring out a Mass Effect trilogy collection or a completely new Wii U exclusive game?! :)

If they release all 3 games I'll do it. If not I'll just keep playing on my 360 :P

This will be truly awesome if it did, i never played any before but i know it is a big rpg franchise which will help wii u a lot. Now i want to hear something form square enix. They said they wouldn't support nintendo in a major way until they go hd.

Main downside - can't continue ME1/ME2 characters and stats through to the WiiU version.
Main upside - it would be fishing awesome!!

If they do this they have to release the entire trilogy onto it and make it a diectors cut.

Would be awesome :) Although they would have to release all three. The games are so much better when you play them in order and retrieve your old saves. And seeing as I have 1 and 2 on PC i'd get 3 on PC also. Still would be nice to see though.

I guess all your weapons and biotic powers could be displayed on the pad so you can just tap each one in real time. Very quick and easy. And viewing the solar system on the touch screen, scouring planets for minerals with the stylus.

This would be superb but released 3 wouldn't work. We've all invested too much time in our characters to suddenly have to start again.

A trilogy would be neat though, but I'd prefer an extension of the franchise. Let's face it, after ME3 they need to expand the franchise to other areas

For everyone saying they should release the whole trilogy, bear in mind that Microsoft owns the publishing rights to ME1, so it would be unlikely (maybe even impossible) for it to be made for something non microsoft.

I find this very worrying. Everyone already a fan of the previous two games will almost certainly want to continue on the console they are presently using - most likely the 360 - due to the continuation of save data across games. Thus, ME3 for WiiU would be foolish. The annoying thing is I would have much prefered to play it with Nintendo from the start and the possibilities of the screen are great with this sci-fi so I would be missing it every second of it even while I'm playing it on 360. It would leave a bitter taste.

So that leaves us with a trilogy box set. However, the game is so grand that I can't see myself going for that. Having already done it all on the hardest difficulty setting has given me enough from the experience and I won't be going back to it anytime soon.

The remaining option is a spin-off. After all, you only need to look at Dead Space to see its possible. Or maybe a fourth game? Not too unrealistic given that, despite the initial scope of a trilogy set in place, given the games popularity - indeed, I see it as one of the best series ever already - it will surely live on considering the profit inherent in the game concept.

If not ME3, how about a spin off? Could see the controller being used as an omni tool.

Oh please, please do this! I beg you if I have to! :)

I agree so i think realeasing the trilogy would be better :P
