Crytek is planning to support the Wii U with its CryEngine technology that's been used in critically acclaimed games such as Far Cry and Crysis 2.
Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli told Develop, "Crytek's support for Wii U is definitely going to happen. We aren't showing it but we are pretty much running it already."
CVG praised Crysis 2 in its < ahref=" http://www.computerandvideogames.com/294813/crysis-2-xbox-360-review/">Crysis 2 review, describing the game as being "as close to an interactive disaster movie as we've ever come."
As for Far Cry, the shooter series began in PC in 2004 and CVG awarded the game a 9.1 score in its Fra Cry review, calling it "gob-smacking both in looks and smarts." Far Cry 3 was shown off at E3 2011.
So, as you can see, this is good news. CryEngine is not the only big game engine that has been confirmed for Wii U. The Unreal Engine 3 - which is used for games such as Batman: Arkham City and Aliens Colonial Marines - will also support the new console.

Far Cry looked awesome at E3, so that would be nice to see on the WiiU.
Nintendo are going to be the next-gen winner again i think. All the third party games/support that other platforms receive, plus the best exclusive/first party series like Mario, Zelda and Metroid. I see a lot of people taking Nintendo seriously again instead of mocking it as a 'kids console/company'!
Sweet decent engines supporting the WiiU this is looking good all I ever wanted is to be able to play my next generation games on a Nintendo console.... Here's to not needing an Xbox 360 anymore
CryEngine + Crytek UK + Wii U = TimeSplitters 4
Yeah Crytek UK didn't reveal what they were working on at e3 like everyone expected but since they bought free radical (and Timesplitters) I'm guessing a new timesplitters will be sooner rather than later.
Hopefully they'll let the free radical guys take the lead on it since the Crytek guys are seemingly devoid of any sense of humour and can't make anything with even the slightest bit of 'fun' rolled into it
