Luigi's Mansion 2 could use 3DS Gyro Sensor - Miyamoto

Do you like the idea?

Shigeru Miyamoto has said that Nintendo may use motion controls in Luigi's Mansion 2 for the 3DS.

In an interview with GameSpot, Miyamoto was asked if Nintendo is planning to use the 3DS console's unique features and this is what he had to say: "We're not planning any AR functionality, but we're looking at doing some things with the camera to make it simpler to play, but also looking at perhaps trying to implement some sort of Gyro control."

It would be a surprise to see the game utilising motion controls. After all, two of Miyamoto's other 3DS games use the gyro sensor. You can move your 3DS to aim your slingshot in Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time 3D and you'll be able to fly your Arwing by tilting your handheld in Star Fox 64 3D.

Now will you be using motion controls to aim your Poltergust 3000 in Luigi's Mansion 2? Well nothing has been confirmed but do you like the idea?

We would actually quite like the idea of the Portrait Ghosts being used for AR Cards!

Here's our Luigi's Mansion 2 preview.

I would love to see some sort of multiplayer element in the game. How awesome would that be? Such as online co-op or minigames or competitive matches where the player has to suck the other player in with the hoover, or collect more ghosts than the other.

Simply being able to move the 3DS to pan the camera would be useful. Would effectively give you a very large viewing area, and the main camera angle seems to accommodate this.

Shigzy is really obsessed with the who gyro sensor controls lately, but i could add a fresh twist on to the game that the original didn't have.
I would love to see a Face Raiders type mini game where you have a first person view of the Poltergust 3000 and have to suck up ghosts flying around your room :)
I will be getting this game regardless, as Luigi's Mansion is awesome!

Motion controls on the 3DS are fun, but they cause the 3D effect to be lost, which can be annoying. I find I have to turn off the 3D while using my slingshot in Ocarina, otherwise I'm seeing double!

After seeing how fantastic the gyro controls are in OoT3D, I'm more than happy to have them in every game. And to anyone saying the 3D effect goes funny, try moving with the system, it's spot-on then

Would be quite a good idea but I would prefer AR uses instead of Gyro Sensor.

As long as they find a good replacement for the c-stick, then this game will be awesome (:

Nintendo really shot themselves in the foot by not having 2 circle pads :/

THE GYRO SENSOR IS SOMETHING IM UNDECIDED ABOUT. I FEEL YOU LOSE THE 3D SWEET SPOT TOO EASILY AND ITS A DISTRACTION ALOT OF THE TIME WHILE PLAYING ZELDA SO FAR. ID LOVE SOME AR CARD FUNCTIONS THOUGH.....THIS IS CERTAINLY A FEATURE NOT BEING USED ENOUGH!! GIVE US SOME LUIGI AND GHOSTS! AS WELL AS SOME ARWING ACTION WHEN LYLAT WARS COMES OUT

    Yep. ONM you are correct
Miyamoto is OBESESSED with the Gyro Senser!
Not saying it's a bad idea, love it myself but it's in every game!
Miyamoto would be heart broken if all the gyrosensers in the world suddenly disappeared!

Miyamoto san is in love with the Gyro sensor, and so he should be because it has great potential in games of the present and future days, even in Ocarina when you move the 3DS to aim, just makes you feel you have immersed yourself in their world

If this is implemented, I think normal button and stick controls should be an option also. That way, if you don't like it, you can go back to traditional methods. I adored the original! :D

I've been looking for a game like this. Something with the exploration of a zelda game, yet the rpg feel of a survival horror.
