This week's Nintendo 3DS eShop downloads

Will you download any of these games?

Double Dragon and Radar Mission are the latest games to be released for the 3DS Virtual Console.

They will be joining the likes of Super Mario Land, Donkey Kong and The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening in the eShop tomorrow.

Double Dragon (3DS Virtual Console, Arc System Works: £2.70) was originally released for Game Boy in 1990. A side-scrolling beat 'em up, it sees Jimmy and Billy Lee taking on rival gangs using jumps, punches, kicks and more.

Playing as Jimmy or Billy, you have to fight your way through the gangs' turf to save the kidnapped girl Marian.

As for Radar Mission (3DS Virtual Console, Nintendo: £2.70) it is notable for being a game developed by Gunpei Yokoi, the man chiefly responsible for Game Boy. It's a military game of two halves - Game A and Game B. Game A is like Battleship - two players place their ships on a grid before the battle commences and you have to guess where your opponent has placed his ship.

Game B features a bit more action as you command a submarine which you can set up with extra Prop Speed, Twin Shots, and/or a Power Sonar. Then you can battle other ships.

There are also a couple of DSiWare games available for download on DSi or 3DS, including Just Sing: 80s Collection and Delbo.

Just Sing: 80s Collection (DSiWare: DTP Young Entertainment, 500 Nintendo Points) is, as the title would suggest, a singing game featuring the biggest party hits of the 1980s.

Delbo (DSiWare: Neko Entertainment, 200 Nintendo Points) is described as a shooting puzzle game. It looks like a new take on Bust-A-Move as you shoot coloured orbs on the touchscreen in a bid to take out stacks of orbs on the upper screen.

You can also download a demo of NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits for your Wii

That's all for this week. Will you download any of these games?

oh yay another fine bunch of releases
I can already feel eshop will offe rteh same 'quality' games that Wii VC has been dishing out with 1 decent game every 6 months. Personally i'd just rtaher see the main games released in one pop instead of all the other tat. I think the GB games should be a flat Ł2 tho with GBC poss Ł3. the Ł4.70 for Links Awakening is sickening no matter how great a game it is

Nope. But I would happily pay for Pokémon Red & Blue (again!) if they released them on the Virtual Console. Same goes for Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins and Kwirk.

    wow, what a whiner.
you're acting like there hasn't been any good games?.
Mario Land, DK and Zelda are basically the best GB games, and they're already out.
just because a game doesn't interest you, doesn't mean they are bad games.

oh Lordy Ł4.70 for over 10 hours of gameplay? dear god the horror.

Wasn't flipnote pre-installed on DSi's anyway, porbably why it isn't available as a DSiWare download on 3DS.

When are we ever going to see 3DSware? There's been no mention of it for months, it's as if Nintendo don't care about it. Virtual console games are all good, but without some compelling 3DSware, I'm not going to be spending a penny of my hard to come by money until some really good 3DSware comes along.

I downloaded Flipnote Studio, so it is on DSiWare. I tried to download it yesterday on eStore, but it wasn't there...

The Pokédex is 3DSWare, and excitebike is a 3D Classic which isn't exactly Virtual Console...
And Flipnote Studio was only pre-installed on the XL, it's still on the DSiWare shop, but you can't transfer it or download it from the eShop because they're making a 3DS version.

  17. Kalasinar Wednesday 22nd Jun 2011 at 21:50

Hmm, nothing to interest me this week, but i am really hoping Kirby's Dreamland will make an appearance on the eShop very soon - i remember completing that on holiday in Egypt when i was about ten years old, and i haven't played it since. I also heard that Sega Game Gear's Columns was set to be released on eShop...looking forward to that too (if the rumours are true).

Do new eShop games come on Thursdays or Friday, cause I read it was Thursday, but these games still arent there yet and when new games come on Wii and DSi on Fridays they are there at midnight!
