Free 3DS games confirmed

Mario, Zelda, Metroid, WarioWare and more for nowt

Nintendo has confirmed to ONM extra details on the 3DS Ambassador programme.

If you connect your 3DS to eShop before August 11th, you'll be registered.

Then, from 1st September, ten NES games will be free to download. Nintendo have confirmed five to us, so far: Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong Jr, Balloon Fight, Ice Climber and The Legend of Zelda.

After that, by the end of the year, ten more Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games will be available to download for free.

They will be exclusive to those part of the Nintendo 3DS

Ambassador Programme, and there are currently no plans to sell them in the future to other consumers.

Five GBA titles have been confirmed so far: Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ and Mario Vs Donkey Kong.

So there you have it. Loads of free games, some of which will be completely exclusive to us early adopters. A pretty sweet deal, all told.

This is all part of Nintendo's 'thank you' to those that bought 3DS at launch price, as the price will drop from August 12th onwards. Nintendo also confirmed the final names of Mario Kart and Super Mario on 3DS this morning.

Oh man this is good compensation for people like me who bought it on day 1

  3. Mastearl Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:00

this also means though that it is technically possible to put gba games on the e shop so maybe they will start releasing them normally alongsdide the other handhelds. speaking of which what happened to the sega game gear games?

  4. toady Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:02

    That is pretty awesome

  5. eternalmidnight Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:03

I'm really happy about it. I get to clear out my room of boxes and carts. God I love non-physical media :')

  6. shadow663 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:06

  7. superdudemiles Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:07

Oh man this is good compensation for people like me who bought it on day 1

Defiantly! Loving this news! I mean one free game would be great but Were getting TEN!
And yeah i bought mine 2 minuets past midnight, in fact i almost didn't get one cause their till was playing up that day! lol that would've sucked so much.

  8. JamieRIOT Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:08

These are all pure classics! I was kind of scared we would be fobbed of with a half a load of bad games, but this is amazing. I can't wait to here what the other half of free downloads are! :D

  9. JackKuchiki Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:10

Nintendo have definitely got this right! Had they simply cut the price, that would have left a lot of fans slightly peeved off for buying it and supporting them early on.

It's things like this 3DS Ambassador promotion that show Nintendo value their fans.

  10. Buffalo_K Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:15

I mean one free game would be great but Were getting TEN!

    Dude, we're getting 20. 8)

    Freakin' Win.

  14. danbish Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:32

This is the best news I've heard all month! It's fantastic! I love you Nintendo!

I didn't know there was a price cut coming for the 3DS until I read the news story on the Nintendo website. What a way to make it up to us early adopters!

  15. Jedi_jester Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:35

Was just reading the official press release on Nintendos site and this stuck out at me:

Once the paid versions of the games are released in Nintendo eShop later in the year, the updated versions will be available to Ambassadors for download at no cost

Updated versions of super mario bros, zelda and balloon fight? So 3D classic versions confirmed? :D

  16. Super Andre Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:36

    God I hate Nintendo.

  17. Super Andre Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:36

    Joke

  18. Jedi_jester Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:37

How to you become part of the programme? i bought my 3ds on launch, do i need to sign up to something?

You just need to link your eshop account to your club nintendo account and your set.

  19. Super Andre Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:39

Shame my 3DS is a bit faulty it doesn't switch on sometimes  till after the 3rd time.

  20. laytonluke911 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:40

YESYESYESYES! Metroid fusion is my faviroute GBA game and now I get it again for free?! YES! YES!

  21. danbish Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:41

    I've just read the story on Nintendo's website again. When it mentions the GameBoy Advance games, it goes onto say;

"These games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on Nintendo 3DS in the future."

We're getting exclusives that no-one else will be able to at all! :D :D :D
I know I've just said it but I'll say it again, I love you Nintendo!

  22. Captain Kuchiki Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:45

Reading through the press release, I haven't read a more humble press release before. For example:

(In regards to the price cut):

We are aware this may cause you, the loyal fans who supported Nintendo 3DS from the beginning, to lose trust in us, and this is not our intention in any way.

Although we may not be able to completely prevent you from regretting purchasing Nintendo 3DS early, we would like to express our gratitude to our special customers like you by offering 20 free downloadable games from Nintendo eShop.

Also, reading the press release, it seems like ONM did get one point wrong. We don't get "Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3", we get "Super Mario Advance 3".

  23. Retrofan Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:49

Yes! And just as I was starting to think Nintendo were just another money-grabbing corporation!

  24. thelinkmaster91 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:50

    THIS IS AWESOME!!!!

It's that just the fact we get free NES and GBA games but it has also confirmed that GBA games will be coming to the eshop. That means some amazing games like Minish cap, Kingdom Hearts com, f zero gp legends, sonic advance i could go on and on.

What a great summer this is going to be :D

  25. BlackMageMario Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:51

... And now everyone who was waiting for a price drop/better games now realized they screwed themselves over.

  26. Greenalink Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:52

    Inconsistency alert

    OMN post:

Five GBA titles have been confirmed so far: Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ and Mario Vs Donkey Kong.

    Nintendo Europe post:

These include games like Yoshi’s Island™: Super Mario™ Advance 3 Mario Kart™: Super Circuit, Metroid™ Fusion, WarioWare™, Inc.: Minigame Mania and Mario vs. Donkey Kong™.

    Notice the difference?

  27. mushroomchow Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:53

    Awesome! :D

  28. ZeldaKing Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 10:58

    Mario Kart :o !!!!!

  29. Toadmaniac2 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 11:00

I'm confused... I have bought and downloaded a number of games from the eShop, does that mean I have registered, or do I have to do something else?

  30. Linebeck013 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 11:06

    Yes!!! This is excellent!!

Nintendo, you really know how to reward your followers! Its times like these that make me proud to be a ninty fan!

  31. Mmmyeah Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 11:14

    exclusive to us early adopters

    you lucky bunch!
i can't afford a 3ds and so will be missing out on all the free games. How very annoying. i am a nintendo fan too, yet i miss out simply because i am not rich enough for nintendo to acknowledge me. thats discrimination nintendo!

i am only joking, of course. they can't please everyone, and the people who bought 3ds' early should have their money given back in some way or another, considering the price drop. while it is annoying i will be missing out on this, it is fair enough considering that when i get a 3ds i will be saving quite a lot of money. in fact, i will probably be saving more money than the price of all these games combined! HAH!

  32. CBTIRL Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 11:37

    WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

My birthday is September 8th so I'm taking this as a birthday from Nintendo.
Thanks for the AWWWWWWWWWSSSSSSSOOOOOMMMEEE present Nintendo!       :!:

  33. PeterR Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 11:44

this is brilliant news, a fair few games there ive never played before aswell. good ol' nintendo making alot of potentially annoyed people very happy.

also yea i was thinking this, does updated versions mean they will later be in 3d?

  34. 06harrisj Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 11:46

and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on Nintendo 3DS in the future.

  35. emperor ing Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 11:47

Nice news that they're giving stuff away. Although only 2 of the GBA games I haven't got (WarioWare and Mario vs DK) - at least we finally get some confirmation that there will be GBA games on the VC.

  36. Violet Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 11:49

So glad that Europe is getting this promotion too. Sure, the price cut sucks, but this is SO worth it. Lots of great games here, and GBA games too? Excellent. Okay, so I own a bunch of them already in some fashion, but still. Interested to see what the other ten games will be.

  37. OracleOfPokemon Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 11:51

yeah, but we got to play on the awesome console for months before you, so, the joke's on you, mate.
OMG FREE GAMES! my sd card's going to be so full, but VC games don't take up much memory.

Sony would never do this, they'd only give you a couple of free games in compensation of having your life savings stolen. LOVE YOU NINTENDO!

i hope minish cap is one of the unconfirmed gba ones.

  38. Bleachyleachy Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 12:02

    Metroid Fusion.
Nintendo, you do know how to make me happy.
For too long, I have wanted to play that game and never played it.
    <3

  39. DarkBladeXIII Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 12:17

ok i know i said before that free games was a bonus, i lied. its more like christmas came early!!

  40. chaz 1805 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 12:18

See, I didn't think it was humanly possible for Nintendo to be this generous. This has truly made my day. :D

  41. stary64 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 12:19

Can it get any better? This is sweet!! By the way, who wants Pokémon to be one of the unconfirmed games?

  43. Sonic_Freak Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 12:32

Actually ONM, Nintendo Europe says we're getting 10 free Game Boy Advance games, not 10 free Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games.

    From the Nintendo Europe post:

    2. By the end of 2011, Nintendo will provide Ambassadors with 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games. These include games like Yoshi’s Island™: Super Mario™ Advance 3, Mario Kart™: Super Circuit, Metroid™ Fusion, WarioWare™, Inc.: Minigame Mania and Mario vs. Donkey Kong™. These games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on Nintendo 3DS in the future.

  44. BYL Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 12:33

Sony's like, "Here, have a game for us failing with PSN." Nintendo's like, "Ha! Screw that! Here's TEN games, just 'cause we love y'all!"
Seriously Nintendo, thanks so much for this!!! :D

  45. hunter metroid Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 12:46

they failed to say that yoshis island on gba is also available

  46. SilverLightning Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 12:48

Golden Sun and Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga or I will have fury.

  47. LaytonMario3 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 12:48

OMG, all these free games. :)

  48. Linkfan42 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 12:52

This is quite possibly the best news I've ever heard. I'm just hoping that the other GBA games include Minish Cap, Superstar Saga and Golden Sun.

  49. Turboman Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 12:59

    YES NINTENDO YOU WONDERFUL PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!
Sony give away one game for being hacked.
Nintendo give away twenty for not doing anything wrong!

However do I have to connect my 3DS to my Club Nintendo account before August 11th because I just sent my 3DS for repairs...

  50. chazrinelli Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 13:01

WOOP!! Cannot wait! Birthday is Sept 20, so its an early pressie from Ninty!!

  51. IPecksU Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 13:26

Pokemon sounds like a long shot but golden sun would be nice, when the gba eshop comes out i'm hoping to get my mitts on megaman battle network :P

  52. Cazy008 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 13:35

Nintendo need stop promising us stuff and start giving us the stuff. We've been promised videos, games and services that we still are yet to recieve or be made available. I am starting to grow tired of waiting and waiting for nintendo to deliver. What do they meen the GBA games will be available 'by the end of the year?' They said kid icurus and metal gear would be launched this summer, but, have both been delayed untill next year. What thay say means nothing to me anymore, I will beleive them when I have downloaded the games.

  53. mario_boi Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 13:42

Sony need to take a page out of Nintendo's book! THIS is how you compensate loyalty. Nicely done Ninty!

  54. tohaker Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 13:56

Thanks nintendo! you really know how to keep your loyal fans happy!! cant wait for LoZ and SMB

  55. Oxo64 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 13:58

    Awsome! :D

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  57. CyberGW Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 14:09

    This is a SUPERB idea!
When I read about the price cut, I got kind of annoyed but now I'm over the moon!
This is what separates Nintendo from Microsoft and Sony, they really,REALLY know how to please their fans, a genious idea!
    Good old Nintendo! 8)

  58. Nickario Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 14:17

Only one thing to do really, big hugs for Nintendo!!1

  59. I Am Error Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 14:19

 just another reason to buy a 3Ds :D

  60. sjk2012 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 14:19

Thanks Ninty - 20 free, decent, exclusive games is worth ~£60+ imo, so even if the 3DS drops to £120 (which I doubt), then I'd have payed £40 to get the console 5 months before the people with discounts. Unlucky people with birthdays between Sep-Feb who might not be able to get one in time :( But my birthday was in December, and I saved up since March before the console came out (just in case...)

And the plus side is that when I got the console, I traded in my DSi, which was worth ~£60 if i remember correctly. Now it's only worth about £30, so that's another plus to getting the console early! I just hope they don't make the same over-pricing blunder with the Wii U - I won't pay anything more than £250, and if it's any more I'll be annoyed. Hopefully the re-pricing of the 3DS will mean that they can charge around the same price as the 3DS for the Wii U (maybe a little more) without people boycotting the 3DS - after all, who'd pay the same amount for a handheld as a console???

  61. kirby711 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 14:36

Well that sure is surprising! Looking forward to getting 'em.

  62. FiveThirteen Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 14:37

  63. Chris_Deere Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 14:40

so you are automaticly entered if you visit the eshop before august 11th

  64. acheaquil Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 14:47

    Warioware FTW!!!

  65. Sputnik97 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 15:13

Can someone help me!! Do you onley have to connect your 3DS to the eshop befor august the 12th ,then your part of the scheme or is there sonthing else you have to do?

  66. Toku-r Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 15:17

    YEEEES! That's sooo good haha
Balloon Fight, Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong Junior, and Ice climbers are getting an instant download, as I already have Mario bros 2. And that's only half of the NES games haha!

    Sooooo good :D
That means we get 20 games right?

  67. Dertdood Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 15:22

So sony gave people a month of their paid service (Which seemed like a promotional offer)

But nintendo give us 20 free games

And we still have our details safe too.

  68. Hylian_Grouch Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 15:23

to all those asking what exactly you need to do to be eligible i have the following to say:

1- why are you asking? cant you find out from the original source by yourselves?

2- it already says it in the news story - just go to the e shop before august 11

    3- bloody hell i am generous http://www.nintendo.com/corp/nintendo3ds/news/

  69. ChrisONM Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 15:23

Can someone help me!! Do you onley have to connect your 3DS to the eshop befor august the 12th ,then your part of the scheme or is there sonthing else you have to do?

Nope, that's all you have to do. I'd recommend linking it to your Club Nintendo account too just in case but you shouldn't have to.

  70. smashbros-kid Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 15:26

Nintendo- add one of the GBA pokemon games to that list and you've got yourself a deal.

  71. Martynh Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 15:29

Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid Fusion, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, YOSHI'S ISLAND! and another 15 games for free for doing nothing extra...........I'm pretty damn happy! :D

  72. abovethewell Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 16:12

I think there should be 12 gba games- 9 games everyone gets and then Pokemon Ruby, Saphire and Emerald, of which each person can choose 1. Add to that wireless trading and mystery gifts from owning PKMn black/white, and you've just made a lot of people very happy, ninty!
PS- I know that coding issues means that the trading would be hard to use, but it's a nice idea. And if anyone would put the effort in, it's nintendo.

  73. original_pmf Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 16:15

This is why I still <3 Nintendo.
I accept that the price will drop and i dont think six months is unreasonable.
Still TWENTY games to download is pretty damn awesome and I for one am not complaining. Roll on 1/9/11

  74. RaidingRaichu Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 16:44

    FREE!!! But where's my Pokemon?

Oh, and does anyone else want to see a PROPER (NOT Squad Command, the graphics were horrid) Warhammer 40K game on DS/3DS?

  75. light_goose Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 16:50

That i ssuch a good way of Nintendo thanking us. I wish all thank yous were so generous =]

How do you get a club nintendo account is you aren't American?? I tried to sign up but it wouldn't let me cause for additional informtion my address had to be in America!!!!

    Never mind =]

  76. Dertdood Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 16:53

Nintendo- add one of the GBA pokemon games to that list and you've got yourself a deal.

I already have all the GBA pokemon games :/

I have to admit, firered and leafgreen are probably my favourite pokemon games though.

  77. Shimama_king Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 17:13

If pokemon yellow is one of the gameboy games i will literally explode. Seriously they'll be scraping me off the walls for weeks.

  78. Flyingleaf Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 17:27

I got mine on launch day so what an awesome way to compensate us for the future price drop. I read that we simply have to access the eShop before August 11th and we are automatically registered is this correct?

  79. oh dae su Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 17:29

I got mine on launch day so what an awesome way to compensate us for the future price drop. I read that we simply have to access the eShop before August 11th and we are automatically registered is this correct?

    Yes that's correct :)

  80. LewiiG Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 17:39

Great i guess. Shame the only ones i dont own are Metroid Fusion , baloon fight, and the Wario Ware one. But portable, and i guess i'll replay them all for the heck of it. Hope others are things i dont have.

  81. HellfireComms Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 17:54

Hopefuly they can do this for n64 games aswell

  82. crazyguys1231 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 18:04

It does seem really exciting. The thing I'm concerned about however is the memory. I mean nes games are fine but GBA games might take up too much room. Especially while applications like nintendo video are on. It takes up a lot of memory in extra data. The only way around this problem is if nintendo make all that stuff an internet based tool. Come on nintendo!!! You get paid a lot so there has to be something you can work out

  83. starvigilante Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 18:08

    Awesome. That is all.

  84. tomutwit Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 18:12

Super Mario Bros, yes finally i will own a proper version of the classic, Donkey Kong Jr, yuk, but same here Balloon Fight,so what Ice Climber so what and The Legend of Zelda. nice!!!

Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 i have it on vc but this version is probably better, Mario Kart: Super Circuit played it its not too great, Metroid Fusion could be good but ive never like the other three metroid games ive played, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ used to have it but then the memory wiped and i traded it in so YAY and Mario Vs Donkey Kong. always wanted that!!

  85. lrwr14 Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 18:35

I love Metroid Fusion, Completed it at least 5 times but since my DS broke and the DSi doesn't play them i've been left without it.

  86. thenintendoer Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 18:55

thankfully most of these games i dont own so its a much better deal

  87. Greenalink Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 19:00

    http://gonintendo.com/
Text in Red = pretty bad
    NES

    - Will not have instructions manual but can be viewed on Nintendo Website (this will change once games officially release)
    - Will include switch player option
    - Cannot control both ports at same time
    - Will not include snapshot feature from GB and GBC VC games
    - Quit Snapshot feature similar to VC games on the Wii
    - Full versions released at a later date will receive full back up features
    - Future updates will allow transferring of NES VC games to another 3DS

    GBA

    - Will not have instructions manual but can be viewed on Nintendo Website
    - Games will not have peripheral support via communication capabilities
    - Pressing Home button displays a simple menu with access to Home Menu
    - "Backup entire function" function "abort VC" does not correspond to both
    - In games with a save function, and select the save, play the Game Boy Advance title at the end, will save the data (Google translation)
    - Closing 3DS will initiate sleep mode
    - StreetPass/SpotPass turned off while playing

No point of having the main Pokémon games when in fact you can't even use a communication related method of trading Pokémon. Mario Kart Super Circuit is also affected as it has no ability to swap ghost data and 2-4 player racing/battle.

  89. Plobadob Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 19:36

  90. frostykins Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 19:57

  91. Flame Sky Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 20:06

    GBA Games I Want
    1. Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3
    2.Mario Kart: Super Circuit
    3.Metroid Fusion
    4.WarioWare Inc.: Minigame Mania
    5.Mario vs. Donkey Kong
    6.Metriod Zero Mission
    7.Pokemon Emerald
    8. Minish Cap
    9. A Link to the past four swords adventure (I Never Played link to the pass ok)
    10. WarioWare Twisted (The 3DS has a gyrosensor and it looks good, but if there not rebellious enough to do that then I want golden Sun)

    Nes Games I Want
    1, Super Mario Bros?.
    2. Donkey Kong Jr?.
    3. Balloon Fight?
    4. Ice Climber?
    5.The Legend of Zelda
    6. Zelda II Links Adventure
    7. Super Mario Bros 3
    8. Mario Bros
    9. Kid Icarus
    10.Duck Tails

I have done some calculations and i got
500wii points is the price of one nes game
    1000 wii points is £7
5000 wii points (to buy 10 nes games) comes at the final cost of £35

£5.60 is the price of a game boy colour game(We will use this because we dont know the real price of these GBA Games)
    £5.60 x 10= £56

    £56
    +£35
+£5.60 (excitebike 3D (got this as well for nothing))
    =£96.60

so if we take this number from £200 we get a number less than the new reduced price(score) and I used a low estimation of the price of GBA games and if each one is 40p more expensive we have well over a hundred pounds (which it will)
And another thing is that Buying anything dsi ware from the 3ds will cost more than using wii points so the nes games are more pricey too

  92. evanid Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 21:09

    Yeah but, how much cheaper?

  93. wooden spoon Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 21:42

  94. shadow.x Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 22:08

Compensation for us midnight release buyers, lool.

  95. Chetters Thursday 28th Jul 2011 at 22:40

you say nowt but really its an apology for asking people to purchase a system with no games to play on it

  96. SSBBmegamaster Friday 29th Jul 2011 at 08:25

metroid fusion is the greatest game created on any console ever.

and can anyone who says the 3ds has no games shut up.
LOZ OOT, SSFIV3DE, ridge racer 3d, pilotwings resort, PES, super monkey ball, nintendogs, tom clancy ghost wars, all the games on the e-shop, including a bunch of art style games, LOZ links awakening, pokedex 3d, 3d classics excitebike and xevious, the list of great software goes on and on and by the end of the year there will be so many great games on 3ds, E3 is evidence of that.

  101. PokeMarti Friday 29th Jul 2011 at 13:18

I think its a really genorous offer from Nintendo for being loyal and picking up the console early. Really great games for free, most of which I havent had the plesure of owning. I'm very happy :)

  102. Cave_dweller Friday 29th Jul 2011 at 14:02

What excites me the most about this program is the fact that I was considering buying every one of those confirmed NES games at one point on the Wii shop channel, and now I won't have to. Especially the likes of the legend of Zelda, which I've been waiting to play for quite some time now. And playing them on the go is a great bonus too.

Another exciting point is that these are all great first-party games. All five NES games are considered golden classics, and what about the likes of Yoshi's island on the gba - another game I've been dying to play for the past year.

At least now I'm convinced to continue buying Nintendo consoles right off the bat.

  103. giantchuchu Friday 29th Jul 2011 at 15:27

    WOW!!!

Hopefully this should make more people buy 3ds's sooner aswell!

Can't wait for legend of zelda, ice climbers, warioware, super mario bros, super circuit, yoshis island and warioware.

  104. Kirby8 Friday 29th Jul 2011 at 16:18

Can someone tell me if it's supposed to have something explained in the nintendo eShop?

I've done the system update today and connected to the eShop but didn't see any notification of info about the programme.

Is it automatic and in September I will be able to download all these games? or do I have to do something more? What do you mean by "registring" for the programme? Just being connected to the eShop before the 10th of August?

  110. Dan-the-Wii-man Saturday 30th Jul 2011 at 14:19

    YES METROID FUSION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  119. pokemanD Wednesday 3rd Aug 2011 at 17:22

I'm asking because I can't access the eshop. I got an error code and it was something to do with getting it repaired.
