Nintendo has announced that a Legend Of Zelda 25th anniversary symphony concert will be held in London on 25 October.
This will be the only Zelda concert in Europe and it will take place at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo. Ticket prices for the London concert start at £33.75 and will be available from 8 August 2011 from Ticketmaster.
The concert will feature orchestral songs hand-picked by Nintendo composer Koji Kondo and his team.
A 70-piece orchestra will be joined by a choir to perform new arrangements of a variety of songs from the series' 25-year history. The concerts will be produced by Jason Michael Paul, Inc., the producers of PLAY! A Video Game Symphony, which has toured the world performing music from video games.

The first Legend Of Zelda 25th anniversary symphony concert will be held in America in October with a full tour due to take place across the country in 2012.
"The Legend of Zelda series is famous for its beautiful music and we are thrilled to celebrate 25 years of memorable soundtracks from this iconic series by letting a symphony orchestra bring this music to life," said Laurent Fischer, Managing Director of Marketing & PR for Nintendo of Europe. "The symphony orchestra concert in London will allow fans from across Europe to come together and show their love for all things Zelda while enjoying a truly unique performance & experience."
Are you going to buy tickets?

hmmm i guess £33 isn't bad but i don't think i can go as i'm skint
You wont believe how much I want to go to this!
That's a Tuesday, right? Have they said what time it'll be yet?
I'll book a ticket, then sell or cancel if I can't make it. It's local, just a case of if I get a full-time job and am working that day by then or not.
That concert is going to be StreetPass HEAVEN!!!
Going
I bet you'll get free things when you go.
as much as i would like to go im skint of money and no one i know would pay that much to go i think i might have to skip this out
I WANT TO GO SO BAD! D:
Definitely gonna go for tickets. I'll have take a few days off university but for this, it's totally worth it
will there be any concerts in liverpool or anywhere near merseyside?
to bad going all the way to london wouls be a bit to mutch of a hassel for me
but if i recall they said that they would realese the music on CD later in the year so that'll do nicely instead
Love to but London's too far away
I hope that they'll stream it the same time to give those who can't go a chance to see it. I find it odd though there's only one European date, but lucky for us it's here in the UK- Nintendo must love us here!
As awesome as the big N is, they really are rubbish when it comes to distributing real life events, since, being a college student, I really don't have the money to travel 200-odd miles... Which is a massive shame since I really wanted to go.
Speaking of Zelda, I'm STILL waiting for my Ocarina of Time CD...
I'm afraid not. Not just is this the only concert in britain, but it seems to be the only one in the whole of europe. i am quite surprised, though honored that they chose the uk.
of course, this being worldwide the people will be doing alot of travelling already, so you can't blame them for not wanting to do too many concerts.
I AM GOING NO MATTER WHAT!!!
My CD came yesterday so you should get yours soon.
I'd love to go, but unfortunately uni takes priority, so I doubt I'll get there. Would be a great experience though. To everyone that is going glhf!
Only ONE in Europe, and tickets on sale in 4 DAYS? Come on Nintendo, you could have given us some time in advance to get the cash together!
You suck at events Nintendo...
Sweet, I've already got that week booked off for a SLF gig/bender for my birthday. The Zelda concert would be perfect to cap off a messy week, hopefully I can grab a few tickets.
I'd love to go but London is too far away for me too travel.
I hope they stream it.
Apparantly cost for tickets and travelling would amount to £100 or more to go from where I live, and I'm on holiday on that day anyway.
Ah well, at least I'll be able to watch a video of it or something after. I would assume they're going to film/record the event.
i want to go to this so badly but i dont have anyone to go with
Ordering day 1. God I love being a Londoner right now.
bullshut. they expect other Europeans to pay flights? yet they travel across the states?
I would love to go, but I seriously can't afford the ticket price AND the travel to London from the West Midlands.
In reply to those hoping they'll stream it: I seriously doubt it. They're charging a lot of money for people to go see it, so I doubt they'll stream it for nothing or put up free videos of it. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if they distributed a digital recording of it online for a decent price or put a DVD of it up on the stars catalogue to buy.
Really would like to go to this as i love the Zelda music and seeing it live with fellow gamers would be amazing. My 3DS would be going mental with street pass hits as well. It depends on what time it is on though as i will have to take time off work and live an hour outside London so would probably get the train. If it does not finish to late in the day then i will certainly be going
The LA event starts at 8pm so I'd imagine the London one will be similar
Woah! That would mean that people would have to pay for tickets, travel AND accommodation for the night, too. I definitely can't afford all of that.
Yeah kind of like almost every other concert lol why is this a surprise to anyone?
Also from the LA event listing
There's a Club Nintendo special offer as well, with a few bucks off the ticket price (looks like 15% cba working it out) but I'd expect under 18's have to be accompanied by an adult, just in case folks get all shocked when that is found out too.
I really wanna go but I'm not sure if my dad will take me....
I hope he will.....
Ah well. A worldwide tour wouldn't come to Cardiff anyway. And it's quite expensive. After hearing how the tracks sound on their own without the game around them from my OOT CD has made me realise that they're not taht great anbyway. Besides if I had gone, well Ive never been to a concert before.
I will definitely be buying myself a ticket. Now I gotta find someone else willing to go in 4 days.
It's frustrating that it's during term time, as I'm reluctant to miss uni and will have to wait for my timetable to buy tickets. The price of £33.75 minimum + travel as well is going to add up and I don't think my loan can cover it >_<
None the less, I'll do my best to try and make it, the only one in all of Europe, can't very well miss it and still call myself a Zelda fanboy
If they came to Newcastle I'd definitely try to get there, if not I'd be happy with the CD
Only one in Europe, well doesn't that suck.
I'd love to go but tbh,I can't be bothered to withstand a 3-4 hour car journey.
If only! This sounds amazing, really wish I could go. If it came up to the North East, I'd definitely go.
Wow, missing out on event Pokémon is one thing, but now I won't be able to go to this concert? Will Nintendo ever show some love for Ireland?
That is absolute bullcrap! I never thought Nintendo would be the ones to screw over millions of their fans. What about fans who live nowhere near London, like me?! I live in Ireland, and there is no way I'll be taken over to England for a concert. I am not happy, Nintendo.
I will be buying it and it will be on my Birthday YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
I really want to go, but I don't think I'll be able to seeing as it's a weekday and I would be back at Uni by that point. Why the hell did Nintendo choose a weekday for?
I would have never thought I'd be into orchestral music in a million years.
When you're there...
.
Open your 3DS every 10 minutes for 5 more Street Pass alerts.
I won't be able to go to this but my Ocarina Of Time CD came this morning!!

I'm hoping that this isn't the only concert in the UK let alone Europe. I really want to go and I technically could get the money together but i live in the north west and to get to London would cost quite a bit, then there is accommodation for the night cause the bus I would get down there stops running at 23:00. Unless I stay up all night (which I am willing to do) but that would be a bit dangerous.
sigh i really wanted to go to this as well :'(
Nintendo seem to be acting that anywhere other than London doesn't exist. Come to Belfast, I'm not paying extortionate prices to travel to London.
I'd love to go but I couldn't afford the ticket as well as the travel to London, accommodation etc. I wish they'd have a few more around the country
good ticket prices and all, but i really hope they do a tour round the UK also, not just america
lol If they do more Europe dates they probably won't be in the UK, possibly one in Dublin but it sounds like folk are really over estimating just how big the UK is. You can get to London for about £100 from anywhere in the UK that's not bad, it could have been somewhere on the continent.
I'll be travelling from Norwich to go to this, looking forward to it
I am concerned about how long it'll last though, the last train home I can get is at 11:30pm and I have to be at Liverpool Street to get that.
Anyone have any ideas how long it'd last and when it'd start?
this is my first comment and it is on my 3ds.
i live in ireland, i am a huge zelda fan,i would love to go but it is in londen which is ok but then i hear it is the only one in europ it macks me mad that nintendo would not kinsider the rest of europ.(sorry for bad spelling).when i herd the E3 commference it brought a tear to my eye,i was proud to be a zelda fan
at least their are releasing a CD online right arent they?
This will be sweet but why on Tuesday what a silly day and why ONLY 1!!, now If I were to go I will have to travel, that doesn't bother me but, I will be in Uni and I have no idea what my timetable will be like until Sep/Oct. So Im not going to buy tickets on 8th of Aug. Which is a shame really. Fair enough for the people who live around London area but for me to travel from Wales and will have to stay the night in London, with no idea if Im able to make it at this point. It's just sly. Even more so if it's only for one day, they should have had more dates or even the weekend. And for people who are in the same situation like me, that have to travel to get there, and going to school/college/Uni or even work. It's not fair for them!
It's a bit of a gamble for me, I really wish they'd made it a weekend.
I'm free on Tuesdays at the moment, but I don't know if I'll be in full-time employment by October. My younger brother will also be back at Uni then, and might not be free.
Have they specified a time yet? Hopefully it'll be an evening performance.
Still, I live less than an hour away from the venue. I'm going to book tickets ASAP, then if for whatever reason I can't make it, sell them then. I'd rather get tickets then be unable to go, rather than hold off getting them then miss out.
WOW. I'll be in Europe in October (probably in Dublin at October 25). I'll try to go.
Am I going? Yes yes yes yes yes! August 8th I will have tickets! See you there!
Im guessing it will start around 7ish, as for finishing I have no idea but im guessing it will be around 10 half 10.
I have a similar problem as my last bus is at 11, and I have somehow got to get from the Hammersmith Apollo to Victoria couch station which is like 4 miles away in the space of an hour which just isn't going to happen. But even if I have to stay in London until the next bus at 8 in the morning it will be worth it.
Oh yeaaah! Awesome. I have to go to this concert. Too bad I'm 13 and have school on that day... I'll have to persuade my mum into taking me. Hell, I'll even pay for the tickets myself if I have to!
I'm a total Zelda geek and proud of it. I can play tonnes of song from the games on the piano and clarinet
Possibly the most awesomely geeky event of the year
I would love to go. Never seen an one before. I loved the Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 music. Beautifully produced work Koji!
can it come to glasgow plz
Cheers!
Not completely impossible, you could get the tube to Victoria in 17 minutes, then you either walk for 12 minutes or get a bus for 3 minutes to get to the coach station. It depends on what time it finishes, I suppose.
thanks for the info
Not a problem! According to Ticketmaster the doors open at 6:30pm so you're probably right about it not being later than 10. Looking forward to it, I'll definitely be buying tickets on Monday then!
I just came back from London...
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
i REALLLY wanna go but i live in newcastle so its hard for me to go :'( not fair xxx
This defiantly could be doable, really excited for it now
I'm just waiting on the Ticketmaster website now hoping to get a good seat
I'll be going on my own, you?
The website says I can get tickets cheaper through some Club Nintendo offer.
What is this offer? I can't see it anywhere. :S
EDIT: Also, every time I search for the cheapest tickets, none come up. X_x
Im also going on my own, have you managed to order your ticket yet, mine won't let me without a club nintendo special offer code???
I don't have a club nintendo offer code (not sure what one is) so i've just paid the full £62.50, jeeeeez that's expensive. I do have my ticket now.
62.50?? what's the difference between that and the 38.50??
What type of ticket did you get? Whenever I look for any, it doesn't come up with any results.
Got my ticket for £40.75 (including postage, booking fee's etc) more than I thought it was going to be as I was under the impression that each ticket was £33 however that is with a club Nintendo promotion code.
But oh well, I'm in row Y which is right at the back but it doesn't matter at least I'm there for the experience.
Can you guys explain how you're managing to find tickets?
Whenever I search for anyt £38.50 tickets, it just says that it can't find any. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong here...
If you go to the ticketmaster home page and type in zelda in the search bar then press enter it will be the first event on the list in Great Britain if you the click on find tickets at the right hand side of the page it will take you to the booking page. once there there should be a section labelled "full price tickets" then select you quantity and which ticket price you want to pay (£38.50, £62.50 or £110.50) then all you have to do is choose where you would like to sit (if available)
hope this helps
Oh man, I've been on the site since 7am this morning (didn't see the 10am bit till about 9am...)
Took ages to actually get permission to go and I was excited as hell for this.
Go to buy tickets as soon as the clock strikes 10, and nothing.
Couldn't get the £38 tickets then, can't get them now.
Really annoyed :/
Have they really sold out already??
If so that sucks.
Yeah, that's exactly what I'm doing, but whenever I try to find any tickets, it just says it can't find any. =/
Sorry I couldn't help, the only thing I can think of is that they must have sold out.
No, it's not your fault!
I don't think that's the case, I was getting the same error at 10AM right when they went up. >_<
Hrm, You could try restarting your computer then reload ticketmaster and try then. If not isn't there a phone number where you can book the tickets?
The highest price ones will be the VIP ones right?
Yeah, they are £110.50.
If anyone is interested, I just paid £64.75 (ticket + booking fee + postage) for row P in the stalls downstairs.
Does anyone fancy a meet up on the day before the concert??
Get some streetpass hit's, play a bit of streetfighter 4, DoA D, etc.
Unfortunately I won't be able to, travelling to London once is already quite a pain and I probably wouldn't be able to get the time off uni. I hope everyone else can go though!
That's alright, tbh I', not sure if I can even organise to make it cause I still can't look at bus/coach times for the 25th of October, but if I can get down to London for like 3 then a least there are a couple of hours before the concert opens.
Where are you travelling from?
I'm not sure what time I can be at the concert for until I get my uni timetable in September, hence why I'll be waiting until then to arrange travel details and book train tickets.
I'm From a little town called New Mills, which is near Stockport if you know where that is? but it's about 25 minute train journey to Manchester which is where I will be getting the Bus/coach from.
Ohhhhhh yeah I know where Stockport is, I live near Sheffield until September so I'm not too far away.
I was going to suggest going via train but it looks like trains to manchester don't run very late so you probably wouldn't be able to get to the train in time.
ahh cool
which Uni are you moving to?
and if you mean a train to London I would do but it is so expensive, It's like £60-70
University of East Anglia, should be good!
If you book it far in advance the price tends to be pretty fair, eg. if you booked a train to London now for the 25th October it'd cost you £11.50 single.
Hope you have a good time
what is it that you are studying?
and really? that doesn't sound to bad, which website is that on national rail?
Thanks!
I'm studying Computer Science, could be quite fun for a nerd like me
Yeah just use national rail, that's why I always buy tickets in advance because you can save a fortune lol
Okay, booked my ticket! Oddly it worked fine on my brother's laptop, so I went ahead and booked tickets for the both of us.
your welcome and that sounds like an alright course
and i've checked national rail and it's still quite expensive but i do have a railcard so it could work out cheaper.
Glad to hear it, which row did you manage to get on?
Your best bet, if you want to get to London for 3pm, is to get the 12:55pm train at Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston for £7.60 (with a railcard). On the way back you'd probably have to get the coach unless you wanted to risk the train at 10:00pm (£7.60) or 10:25pm (Swapping at Sheffield, £8.60).
I suppose it depends on how much you were going to be paying for the coach really.
Are you going to GAMEFest in Birmingham by any chance? Just curious!
Also, tickets aren't sold out YET. But probably will do soon. All the £33.75 ones are gone.
My previous message didn't come up, but the code for the London Symphony isn't ZELDA since that was for the US one. Through experimenting I discovered the code is actually OCARINA. Enjoy.
Btw I've purchased two VIP tickets. I can't wait!
That's most likely what I'm going to do, I'm going to really go through it sometime this week and find all the possible routes and prices.
And I wasn't planning to but since tickets are only £5 I may consider it, are you going?
Sounds like a good idea, if you need any help I'm here! (I know quite a lot about travel and I've travelled in and around London plenty of times)
Yeah I'm going with my brother, the tickets were pretty cheap so it sounded like a fun thing to go to, I want to see some Nintendo games
(plus mountain dew are going to be there, gotta love that!)
Cheers mate
I'll PM you if I do.
And sounds good, if I can get the money together for travel then I will probably go as it does look like it will be a fun event. Plus we get to try out unreleased games so what's not to like
Mountain dew FTW!
There are still some £33 tickets at HMV's website. That's where I bought mine. Follow this link: http://www.hmvtickets.com/events/4090?R ... _home_hero
Got my tickets! Excited!
Why does everything have to happen in London? Have something in Scotland for once, preferably in the west.
Just bought my ticket. Yeah!!! If anyone needs a ticket for the Zelda concert head on over to either Seatwave or GetMeIn. I've heard tickets are selling like hot cakes there!
