Looks like Roc's Cape that lifts Link into the air on a wind geyser. The game looks so great and so different in some ways. I like that they're pushing the boat out with items, Link has got himself a F.L.U.D.D. :D

Who else thinks that City in the Sky could be what's left of Skyloft. Or is it just me that thinks that

Loveing the musical notes that play during sword swipes, also Is that purple first person mode a lense of truth like like item? hmmm. Also I reckon that flying whale beastie is the same leviathan that snapped zelda into his feasome maw, I also beileve I saw a poe sole which in appearence looks to be very similar to it's ocarina itaration. Also japan is all about jumping on mosnter's backs isn't it  Anyway looks great can't wait and I think I might scream when I get it :D

Well, seeing this makes me question once again..."which one game coming out between now and 2012 am I truly most looking forward too?"

I love how the dungeons mechanics seem to work in a completely new way, and the cell shaded graphics are just very slick in my view.

I doubt it since this game is the earliest addition to the series. Hyrule doesn't even properly exist yet.

Wow, went from being mildly interested to really excited. This and Xenoblade look like they'll save the wii for me when I get them.

Good to see that Shigeru's using the Wiimote wrist strap ;D

On a more serious note, this footage is awesome! Really, really looking forward to this game now! :D

No! Beadle! Get it away! The game's ruined now...

Mind you... Link seems nicer to look at now than before.

    Cool. Roller coaster ride!

  22. king of Games Wednesday 14th Sep 2011 at 10:10

in reply to marion64Wii if you look closely at links shield you can plainly see the Triforce symbol. Also twilight Princess takes place centuries in the future from Skyward Sword

  23. Steno1 Wednesday 14th Sep 2011 at 13:06

The Zelda orchestra must be sick of playing that song, seriously.

Also, Miyamoto makes another cheasy appearence.

I can't remember what one of the videos said it was but it's actually a miniature-parachute Link holds, just like the Deku Leaf to have a safe landing.

I love how the dungeons mechanics seem to work in a completely new way, and the cell shaded graphics are just very slick in my view.

Actually, they're not cel-shaded at all (cel-shading is a graphical method, not a strict style. It's where lighting and colour is implemented into sectors on the wire-frame of character and/or location models in large sections... of course I'm no good at explaining it in huge tech terms or officially) but they're using watercolour and painting-like textures to make it look like impressionistic paintings (ones that look adventurous and story-like). Also, the lighting is mixed with that and reflections are awesome in relation to this art style. Playing it in person was awesome!

The return of Beedle! On an exercise bike...

Yup, he's awesome but remember - his name might not even be beedle because this game is basically saying "This is beedle's ancestor, who was originally of the Sky Tribe" - this game is the first in the whole series in the split timeline (before the split) and should explain tons of the story in Twilight Princess and set up a lot of what happens in Ocarina of Time.

  27. CraigEmberson Thursday 15th Sep 2011 at 09:40

    AWSOME!!!

i love the return of the double clawshot and gust jar

Nobody knows exactly what that item is... It could very well be the gust jar but in the video, it looks like it's been upgraded to be able to emit water too. It's kinda like how the Wooden Shield is upgraded to the Banded Shield and then tons of other shield, until finally it becomes the legendary Hylian Shield (obviously showing how it came into existance).

  28. CraigEmberson Thursday 15th Sep 2011 at 09:43

Who's with in thinking that City in the Sky could be what's left of Skyloft. Or is it just me

I'm not sure... It could be another area of the sky because the Ooccoo don't seem to live among the Sky Tribe. They helped create the Sky Tribe (future Hylians) and by the name... I'd guess they helped create the Ocarina of Time, along with the Dominion Rod (which obviously is nothing to do with the name) but they could tie the Ocarina in that way.

That's because you'll be upgrading your shield throughout the game, into tons of other shields that will get stronger - it will take it's final form when it's eventually upgraded all the way into the Hylian Shield... This must mean that by the time you can do that, "Hylians" should be officially established somehow.

It looked like Zelda was wearing the Hyrule royal family crest. Don't think I've noticed that before anyway.
Also, the courage symbol was on a rotating disk thing behind her in another clip. I'm willing to guess that the power and wisdom symbols'll be on that disk-thing too. It'll be very interesting to see exactly what that's about.

In this game, the Triforce isn't included in the Skyloft symbolism - it's usually replaced by a bird's talon - which is seen lightly in parts of Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time but not too much... It seems the bird wings and the talon are the symbol of the Knight School specifically though. That symbol on the gear behind Zelda, is the same symbol on the Special Edition version of Skyward Sword. It has Hylian Writing that says "Courage - Farore / Wisdam - Neuru / Pawer - Din" Unfortunately as you can probably tell, they're not the best at translating Japanese to English in Japan. Nayru's name in the English versions was corrupted slightly and spelt Nayru, different to the JP version... Also, they must have got confused because Power romanized in Japanese is "Pawa". You can also see a musical score going around the centre but nobody knows where it begins or ends, as it's in a circle. The whole thing looks like some kind of seal/protective field/gateway.
