Paper Mario developers create new 3DS puzzle game

Hiku-Oso features retro Mario and Balloon Fight art

Intelligent Systems, the folks behind the awesome Paper Mario series, are releasing a new 3DS puzzle game in Japan next week called Hiku Oso.

It's available through the eShop and it looks like it should appeal to Nintendo fans as it features Mario and Balloon Fight pixel art.

Hiku-Oso is a block puzzler but it sounds like it could be more like Mr Driller than Tetris. You play as Maro (no, not Mario) whose home town has been covered with blocks called Hiku-Oso.

You can to push and pull these blocks in order to create pathways and advance to the stage goal.

As you can see, the 250 stages have a retro pixel art style and in addition to the Mario and Balloon Fight stages, there's one set on the Eiffel Tower.

Would you like this to be made available in the UK?

    Certainly not bad.

The more puzzle games, the better. The 3DS is sorely lacking these outside downloadable ones.

Thanks for pointing my attention to this ONM. I love puzzle games and this one looks very intriguing. I'll have to get this one when it comes out ^^. Not sure sure I would compare it close enough to Mr. Driller or not, but then again... I don't know what I would compare it to :)

I can't think of a bad game that Intelligent Systems has made so i am sure this will be a great game. If it gets a release in the UK and is not to expensive i will most likely download it.
