Treyarch, the studio respiosible for the Call Of Duty Wii games, is bringing its successful game to a new console, prompting suggestions that Call Of Duty Wii U could be on the cards.

A job advert on the developer's website reads: "Treyarch is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer for a position on the team bringing our hugely successful game to a new console."

Treyarch's biggest game is Call Of Duty and although the company hasn't confirmed which console this game will be for, Call Of Duty publisher Activision has previously said it is excited about Wii U.

So by the sounds of it, the Wii U is gonna be tainted with crappy Call Of Duty? Why can't Activision just let that franchise die?!

If this were true then it would be great because the Wii U could do with as many high-profile titles as possible

I know right? Call of Duty now just provides the teats from which Activision will milk. And it's probably gonna be some crappy port or spin-off.

Isn't no surprise here,Activision are going to milk their treats as hard as possible.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Call Of Duty has gone too far. I mean who wants to play an updated version of the same game every year? I know I don't, it's not as if they change much the location and colour scheme. Take the hint Activision, people are beginning to care less about Call Of Duty, so make up a new franchise and call the time of death!

Genuinely spat out my coffee reading that comment. How vivid.

Whether you like it or not (and I personally don't), Cally of Duty is a popular franchise, so why can't it be on Wii U? It'll certainly attract more gamers to Nintendo and that can only be a good thing, right? Plus, I'm sure there are a lot of CoD fans would same about the Mario franchise. Just because you don't something doesn't mean it shouldn't exist anymore. Please grow up, m'kay?

In response to that I'm not saying Call Of Duty is overly bad, I mean I did enjoy the first Modern Warfare, but after that it just got out of hand. I mean that it annoys me that Activision pushes out a new game every year without fail, for no reason, with not many improvements over the last, what you said about Mario is a fair point, but the thing about that is that with every new game there (in the main series anyway...) is something new to mix up the formula, with the exception of Galaxy 2, which frankly I was disappointed with. I understand that there are a lot of people who like and love Call Of Duty, but can't they just stop with the yearly releases and focus on other things as well?

Well it's rumoured now that Black Ops 2 is in development for the Xbox 720 and PS4.
But I think,it's a game for probably the PSP Vita,Wii U and maybe the 3DS.

Going by the sales of previous COD games, It's more likely people will buy it for XBOX 360 & PS3 (and XBOX 720 & PS4 for COD BLOPS 2). Seriously, who's gonna buy the next COD game on WiiU when the vast majority of people who buy COD games will buy the next one on XBOX 360 & PS4?! I tried the first COD Modern Warfare on the PC, and gave up on it, and my love of FPS's dies there and then. I certainly wouldn't buy a WiiU for a COD game, or any other FPS's for that matter, I think Nintendo are missing a trick on this one.

What is with all the hate of COD. I love it and have preordered mw3. Please do not respond to this saying I'm an immature 12 year old (i am 13 Beyotch!!!)that only likes shooters. I like a zelda or Mario as much as the next guy and have skyward sword preordered as well but I think COD is one of the most addictive games ever online and to me it seems that people are hating on COD just because it's popular which doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

i am not even going to comment on the stupidity in this thread

    @smashbrother
Dude I was only commenting on the extreme attitudes of the previous posts, not just you so don't feel bad. I just wanted to introduce some balance to the thread.

I'm not interested in it, but I'm sure it will do the Wii U some good by having a bigger library and a popular game on it so, it's not bad.

They release one every year so i would be shocked if it wasnt on it!

  15. Sonic56 Wednesday 5th Oct 2011 at 19:42

Personally I love call of duty but all my friends laugh at me cause I play it on the wii (xbox and PS3 owners) so I will be happy when this comes out with ramped up graphics and new features

I'm with the others who think COD should be stopped. If the yearly release actually provided something new and innovative to the series, then I wouldn't mind it but as it is, each new game just changes the setting and maybe adds some new weapons, chucks in a new short campaign mode and yet millions buy it every year. Then they buy the map packs that should have been in the game already.

The COD series is activision's cash cow, and as long as it sells millions every year they won't be stopping it anytime soon.

I actually think COD is one of the most casual games. I know people who own a PS3 or Xbox 360, and play the annual COD, the annual FIFA and very little else. It seems to me that most true videogame fans that comment on game news sites like 1up, IGN, Gamespot etc. agree that COD is just a mass appeal game that doesn't do anything special. There is way more excitement surrounding Battlefield 3, so it will be interesting to see which one ultimately sells better. I intend to buy a PS3 soon, but it won't be to play COD or FIFA, thats for sure.
