Let's Golf 3D Review

The 3DS eShop exclusive comes out swinging, but is it a hole-in-one or a double bogey?

While the 3DS eShop already provides a decent selection of Virtual Console games as well as most of the DSiWare already available, Let's Golf 3D is the first third-party title designed purely with the digital store in mind.

It comes to the fore armed with six courses, giving 108 holes in total, and offers a standard Instant Play mode as well as a Career mode.

With basic three-press swing controls, Let's Golf 3D isn't hard to master so you'll soon be unleashing huge drives from the tee like Rory McIlroy.

It's easy enough making putts on the game's simpler greens but as you get to trickier holes and the greens become a mess of poor quality grids, it becomes awkward trying to aim your putt while wrestling with the unhelpful camera angles.

If you're after a 3D golf game then Let's Golf 3D wins by default because it doesn't have any competition yet. The lengthy career mode means you'll get your money's worth, but the iffy putting and lack of character means this golf game still has a fair way to go (sorry) to become one of the genre's masters.
