Zelda: Skyward Sword's main quest about 35 hours long

At least double that with side quests and other extras

The main quest in The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword is about 35 hours long. That's according to Official Nintendo Magazine's Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword review.

However, that's just the beginning. You'll spend a lot longer with The Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword if you are planning on getting stuck into side-quests.

ONM writes: "There are about 35 hours to be spent on Skyward Sword's main quest along, and at least double that if you plan on dipping into the game's plentiful side-quests, collecting all of the insects, upgrading all of the items, discovering the locations of the Goddess Cubes and exploring the world."

So Miyamoto's claim that The Legend Of Zelda will be betwen 50 and 100 hours long is not wrong!

You can read the first Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword review in the December issue of Official Nintendo Magazine which is on sale now.

Ruddy amazing. Nintendo have done themselves proud, that's clear.

35 hours is more then enough for a main quest. Well done nintendo :)

I was expecting maybe a 50 hour main quest from what we were told before, but still as long as I get the game (and that awesome golden remote) I'm satisfied. Still rattling through Xenoblade Chronicles, I hope this one is up to that standard. :D

Would you say the main quest was longer or shorter than Twilight Princess?

I was hoping the main quest would come in at around 50 hours, and the side quests would take around another 50 hours.

Don't forget that in order to get that first review ONM have to speed through the game, so if you take your time with the main quest it'll probably be closer to that 50 hour mark. I mean, Chris said in last month's podcast that he had to play through Super Mario Galaxy in 13 hours, when really it'd take the average gamer around 20 hours to complete. These ONM guys are gaming NINJAS!

Great news,I love doing the side quests in the Zelda games,so this'll probably take me 70-75 hours to fully complete.

Last year this sort of thing would have blown my mind. Now, with Minecraft, Steam, and my Dell XPS, not so much. Sadly.

Well I guess that's okay as I'll add another few hours onto it seeing as it takes me ages to get through the dungeons.

You guys did rush it though to get the review out in time so maybe that's why you did it so quick, yes?

Eeeep that sounds like a short main quest time. I got twilight princess not so long ago, I'm on the temple of time, but it's still taken me around 40 odd hours! (Gosh, I'm soooo slow)

You're probably right, but its been nearly five years since the last home console Zelda game, so I want it to last as long as possible, because who knows, it may be another five years before we see another new Zelda game for a home console.
