EscapeVektor: Chapter 1 Review

The next Bit.Trip?

Playing a bit like Pac-Man set in the world of Tron, EscapeVektor looks very much like it has been designed to appeal to Bit.Trip fans.

Vektor is trapped inside a computer and you have to help him escape. He can only travel straight along lines - you need to paint them all until the inner cell is surrounded before making your way to the exit.

Along the way you must avoid enemies who patrol the grid, although you can detonate them when you surround them in a cell. It gets challenging when faster enemies appear and the grids become more complex.

EscapeVektor looks good but lacks charm, and just going up, down, left and right over lines is a little boring. Solid retro gaming, but with a lingering feeling of style over substance.
