UK Charts: Professor Layton makes the top ten

Spectre's Call matches Skyward Sword's performance

Professor Layton And The Spectre's Call has gone straight into the UK chart at number seven, matching Legend Of Zelda Skyward Sword's week one placing.

Skyward Sword has dropped out of the top ten altogether this week (sliding down to number 19) but there's better news for Super Mario 3D Land which, despite entering the chart below Skyward Sword, remains in the top ten.

Skyward Sword has also been replaced at the top of the Wii chart by Just Dance 3 but Professor Layton And The Spectre's Call has replaced Moshi Monsters: Moshling Zoo at number one in the DS chart while Super Mario 3D Land remains on top of the 3DS top ten.

Zelda came out in a bad week, with Modern Warfare 3 and a couple of thers not long released, it was always going to have a hard time in the all-format chart. But rest assured, it will continue to sell well, long after the top all-format chart games have slipped off the radar, as is usual with Nintendo games.

Just, literally, got my copy of Proffessor Layton and the Spectre's Call as I type this, woohoo! It's nice to see LEGO Harry Potter Years 5-7 doing well, but I expected that anyway.

And Sonic Generations enters the 3DS charts at #4. Nice.
But where the heck is Kirby's Adventure Wii on the Wii Charts!

Really disappointed to see Skyward Sword not doing as well as it could, but if I'm honest it doesn't surprise me. The Wii hasn't exactly been popular amongst the 'Hardcore crowd' And I personally know a lot of people who sold or traded in their Wii and aren't willing to purchase another one for one game.

But no need to dwell on the past the Wii U is in the not so far off future And if Nintendo can create a solid online experience like XBL and PSN, with a lot of third party backing to bring the games that Nintendo wouldn't necessarily make I have to say the future looks very bright indeed for gaming as a whole.

Sad to see Skyward Sword drop, but glad to see Super Mario 3D Land, Professor Layton and Sonic Generations doing well.

The reason why SS isn't in the All-formats list is because most people are just into games where online is key, like Call of Duty and FIFA. But stuff like Skyrim and Zelda are proper games because of their long campaign.

Great to see Layton and Mario up there!
Hoping Mario Kart 7 will get Top in All Formats, hopefully I will buy it this weekend (even though I'm not actually getting it till Christmas) so I can support it! :D

Anyone else surprised to see a Spongebob game wedged in the 3ds chart?

I don't understand why the top 5 is so popular. They are good games but Skyrim beating Skyward? Really?
