Kingdom Hearts 3D coming to UK in 2012

Dream Drop Distance confirmed for UK

Square-Enix has confirmed that Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance will be released for 3DS in the UK in 2012. However, the company has yet to reveal an exact Kingdom Hearts 3D UK release date.

Kingdom Hearts 3D director Tetsuya Nomura has revealed that Dream Drop Distance is the first chapter in the series final conflict.

"With the tenth anniversary of the series on the horizon, the current Kingdom Hearts saga is approaching its climactic conclusion," said Nomura.

"The story of this game will serve as the opening chapter of the final conflict, and, as always, will be full of surprises. In order to best implement this element of surprise and discover new realms of possibility, we have chosen Nintendo 3DS as our platform. With its revolutionary new game system, this title will not only be a bold, exhilarating tale of adventure, but also a first look into the future form of the Kingdom Hearts series."

The chapter opens with King Mickey and Yen Sid preparing for an impending threat by putting Sora and Riku through the Mark of Mastery exam.

Sora and Riku are sent into the Sleeping Worlds, where they will face enemies and allies that have never been seen before. If they can successfully complete the task they are given, they will be deemed true Keyblade Masters.

Those enemies and allies include the likes of Pinnochio, The Hunchback Of Notre Dame, The Three Musketeers and the main characters from cult Square-Enix RPG The World Ends With You.

You'll be playing as Sora and Riku who, thanks to the new free-flow action system, will be able to perform acrobatic attacks.

New creatures called Dream Eaters will also be making an appearance. These are split into two categories - Spirits and Nightmares - and you'll need to recruit over 50 different types of Spirits as allies to fight alongside Sora and Riku as they visit new Disney worlds, including La Cité des Cloches from The Hunchback Of Notre Dame.

Are you looking forward to Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance?

I'm very excited about this. Hopefully we'll get to see the "conclusion" on WiiU too.

Just as i suspected, there's going to be alot of loose ends being tied in this game. It was a bit obvious this was coming overseas... I just need a date dammit!

Th-Th-Th end of Kingdom Hearts coming soon?

    *sigh*

This game looks great, I'm looking forward to it and the "shocking ending" (mentioned in the mag). But if I could change one thing, I'd like the commands thing to return to how it was in Kingdom Hearts 2. I prefer it that way with normal attacks, items, magic and Drive (Drive will probably be replaced with something else) in it, instead of the new one the came in BBS and Coded

Th-Th-Th end of Kingdom Hearts coming soon?

not at all, it's merely the conclusion of the Xehanort Saga. the series will continue after Kingdom Hearts III because Squenix have cottoned on to how much of a cashcow the franchise is
