As some of you may have gathered by now, I am pretty much a Kingdom Hearts obsessive. I'm incredibly excited about the release of Kingdom Hearts 3D this year and will be trying my very best not to get too jealous of those living in Japan who already have a confirmed release date and the promise of a beautiful Kingdom Hearts themed 3DS console.
It has been reported that Kingdom Hearts 3D will not feature any worlds from the previous series - they will all be brand new. This immediately gets Kingdom Hearts fans thinking about what they would love to see in the new game and I am very excited about the worlds already confirmed which are as follows:
Le Cité des Cloches (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)
Prankster's Paradise (Pinnochio)
Country of Musketeers (The Three Musketeers)
Symphony of Sorcery (Fantasia)
City of Luminations (Tron Legacy)
I'm definitely looking forward to all of these and I've also been imagining what other worlds I would love to be announced next. There are so many undiscovered Disney worlds that Kingdom Hearts has yet to explore. Here are just some that I would like to see one day.
1. Treasure Planet
When you think Disney movies, I'm pretty sure Treasure Planet is not the first thing that springs to mind as it grossed nowhere near as much as many of Disney's animated creations. Personally though, I think it's a great movie which takes the classic story of Treasure Island and thrusts it into a futuristic universe where pirate ships can sail through space... why would you not want to explore this world?
There are plenty of shifty characters in this film too, not to mention the infamous Long John Silver... he could make one scary Nightmare Dream Eater ally.
2. Atlantis
I am actually kind of surprised that this world hasn't already been visited in previous games. Even if you haven't seen the movie, I'm pretty sure that most people are familiar with the whole Lost City of Atlantis and the great city that sank into the ocean.
I was a big fan of the Atlantica world (The Little Mermaid) in Kingdom Hearts and I think an Atlantis themed world would give us another great reason to venture under the sea and also the chance to explore the lost ruins. I would very much like to see a Kingdom Hearts twist on this place.
3. Pixar
Okay, don't try to hide it, who wouldn't love a 'Toy Story' themed Kingdom Hearts World? It would be so awesome to be charging around an area like Pizza Planet with your keyblade and the little green dudes!
But the reason I'm calling this category Pixar is because I would love to explore all Pixar Worlds. To list them separately would take up this whole article but imagine A Bugs Life world where you shrink down to an ant or perhaps Monsters Inc' where you run around the scare floor.. Imagine also, 'Wall-E' and UP... there are so many exciting and fun opportunities there. I doubt a Pixar themed world will ever appear in Kingdom Hearts 3D but it's fun to dream, right?
4: Song of the South
I loved the Steam Boat Willie world in Kingdom Hearts 2 and it was great to see the game including something classic for fans of retro Disney. A friend of mine actually suggested how awesome a Song Of The South world would be and I completely agreed.
I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of it myself! Getting to explore Br'er Rabbit's home turf would be so much fun and it would introduce younger fans to this classic tale. I guess I imagine it would be a bit like the Hundred Acre Wood world from the original Kingdom Hearts which I adored. I feel like the game needs a real variety of worlds from different eras and when it comes to choosing a golden oldie, I'm rooting for this one.
5. Dumbo
I feel that this definitely deserves its own world in the Kingdom Hearts universe and I imagine it being set in the circus tent that would set the tone for a really freaky boss battle. We have already seen Dumbo playing a strong role in the Kingdom Hearts games as the cute summon. I would love to see more of this little guy and travel to his home world.
Aside from all the Disney worlds, I would also relish the chance to revisit places from previous Final Fantasy games as we see the characters all the time. Getting to blow up a Mako Reactor in Midgar and just meeting more characters like Zidane or, more recently, Lightning would be amazing.
I've tried hard when writing this to include worlds that I think would add most to the game. At first, me being me, I wanted more Disney princess worlds but as much as I love those girls, I think we need to see worlds and characters like no other before. Also, I would love to have listed more then just five selections. Believe me, I have a load of other worlds I would love to see but I know I can leave that to you guys. Save your "that totally won't happen" comments, I just want to know which Disney worlds are you dreaming up?

i agree pixar worlds would be awsome, and a dumbo world would be fun (however i dont think we get 2 circus worlds in DDD)
Y'kno I just remembered! Dumbo's a summon character this would alredy confirm that he has a world! including all the others u can summon. I wanna Stitch when he lands in hawaii! or maybe a world with Bambi mentioned in a previous comment, Chicken Little could be fun, and maybe a final fantasy world hmmmmmm ? (Remember Cloud vs Sephiroth)
Atlantis would be awesome to see, but since Atlantica already exists they did the sensible thing in choosing the more well known film. I really enjoyed Atlantica in the first game, even though the controls were a little -ahem- fishy at times, and then they absolutely ruined it with all those minigames in Kingdom Hearts II.
I think it's about time we saw a Bambi world, since we've already seen Sora and co. change into animal form for the Lion King. It'd be awesome to interact with Thumper and the others. El Dorado could make a welcome appearance, where Pete could also be searching for the city, and the Emperor's New Groove is another classic. I'd also love to see them incorporate the Aristocats in some way, since I loved that film. Perhaps it could replace Atlantica as a musical-based world for minigame enthusiasts? ?Everybody wants to be a cat...?
you wont be seeing a songs of the south world anytime soon as disney have abandoned that film. they like to pretend it doesnt exist because of the black history behind its production...

I am aware this film never got released as a whole in the USA. However as I state in this article I am referring to the animated segments of the movie involving Br'er Rabbit and his furry friends. Splash Mountain is and still remains one of the most loved family rides in both American theme parks, Disneyland California and Disneyworld in Florida. You can also find the animated parts of this movie in various Disney compilation videos such as the 'Sing a long' series or shorts featuring classic Disney cartoons. These are available worldwide.
I would love a Bambi world! After being transformed into a Lion for KH2 it would be fun to have another world where we get to take on a different form Lilo and Stitch would also be fun!
For me, and I've dreamt of this since I first started playing kingdom hearts, it has got to be Basil The Great Mouse Detective one of, if not, my favourite Disney films of all time. Being able to hunt down Fidget and Rattigan taking on the robot mouse Queen of England and Felicia the fat cat. Going to the creepy toy shop, having Toby as a summon, I could list all sorts I'd love to see but I'd be here forever. It's a traversty that it has not even been mentioned in a summon in previous games.

I very nearly picked this one! I agree it would make a fantastic world. The old smoky streets of London and taking on Rattigan would be epic. It's one of my favourite movies.

Nice to see a fellow Basil fan don't see many I'd also like to see Chip n Dale take up their Rescue Rangers roles that would be cool and Darkwing Duck would be amazing. My inner child is coming through with this article lol
I agree about the Pixar worlds. It'd be interesting to see something like Bambi and The Jungle Book too.
A Jungle Book world would be cool.
I'd also like to see worlds based on Emperor's New Groove or The Princess and the Frog (Dr. Facilier boss battle, anyone?). I know they're more recent films, but I think most of my favourites from the classics have already been covered.
I'd also love to see a Basil-themed world. Basil would be an ally and fight with a pistol and his darts, there'd be a minigame where you ride Toby, you could control that balloon array he rigs up, occasionally have to outrun and fight Felicia, and bosses would include the robot queen and Fidget and it'd culminate in a showdown with Ratigan inside Big Ben's tower. And Sora and Riku would turn into mice. It'd be awesome.
In fact, if we're talking mouse films, how about a Rescuers Down Under world too?
Yeah Tailspin would be great forgot about that lol, could go a little bit odder and go for Gummi Bears could have bouncing mini games and turn the characters into bears lol. I think out of the new films Princess and the Frog would make a cool world with the swamp area and voodoo aspects could make for some really cool visuals.
Sorry to rain on your parades but Nomura did say that there will be only seven worlds to awaken in the Realm of Sleep. The quote went something like this; "When the Keyblade Warriors (Sora and Riku) seal the Keyholes to these dormant worlds, and return them to the Realm of Light, then they will be truly deemed masters in this Realm". That's technically saying that once Sora and Riku seal the Keyholes to the seven dormant worlds in the Realm of Sleep then they will become Keyblade Masters and thus pass their Mark of Mastery Exam which is held by Yen Sid in the Mysterious Tower. So I'm just going to state some facts and shoot at the obvious or the most likely things that would happen. There isn't five but six words announced already to be playable in the Realm of Sleep. Nearly everybody forgets about Traverse Town. Nomura also said that there will be some original Kingdom Hearts worlds in the game. He only said the Disney words would be new and that makes perfect sense. You see, in a time we probably don't know about, presumably after the events of the original Kingdom Hearts of after Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (but most likely after Kingdom Hearts), Traverse Town must have entered into a stage of sleep and therefore is now a world in the Realm of Sleep. How do I know this? Well the fact that there's Dream Eaters in Traverse Town makes it quite obvious don't you think? Same goes for La Cite des Cloches, Prankster's Paradise, Country of the Musketeers, Symphony of Sorcery and City of Luminations (I didn't even know the Tron: Legacy world was called that until recently! Must be recent news.). So that only leaves one world. I'm guessing, since the developers still have the left over data that wasn't used in Birth by Sleep, they would obviously use the world that was based on The Jungle Book that was supposed to be used in Birth by Sleep and the original Kingdom Hearts but was scrapped from both games. It would be far easier for the developers to squeeze in this world because they have so much data of that world and I can tell that it really needs to be used up. Another reason that it's extremely easy for the developers is that both Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance run on the exact same gaming engine. And while they're at it they can use up the data for Laguna Loire (from Final Fantasy VIII) as well. He can be the other Final Fantasy character alongside the Moogles since they have been in all of the Kingdom Hearts games. Birth by Sleep did that but with Zack Fair in place of Laguna Loire. Laguna Loire was also supposed to be used in Birth by Sleep but wasn't. He was used for Dissidia 012 instead. And the fact that there is a lot of characters from The World Ends With You, and that the 3DS can't hold up a lot of data for a game like Kingdom Hearts, then it would only be wise to use limited numbers. And it would make more sense storywise as well. And Nomura has used those limited numbers wisely. That's why only seven worlds are being used and that there is probably going to be two Final Fantasy characters this time again. We all know the Moogles are in so that only leaves one to worry about. And that's me finished. Any questions or obligations?
Definitely Treasure Planet for me! It's my favourite Disney film. The only problem I have with what you said about it though is that Long John Silver shouldn't be a Dream Eater... Make Scroop the Dream Eater instead, seeing as they seem to be based on animals.
Atlantis was an interesting one too. Just base it on the first film and I'll be happy.
a final fantasy world hmmmmmm ? (Remember Cloud vs Sephiroth)
Much as one would wish, Kingdom Hearts would never have a world solely dedicated to Square stuff.
I think it's about time we saw a Bambi world
Some nice ideas. Bambi would be fun, although I think they'd axe the key turning event.
...have they even had Duckburg yet?
Ducktales, hmm? I'd love that. Although I'd be disappointed because the one thing it makes me think of is Capcom's music for the GB/SNES Moon level of their Ducktales game, which was epic.
Speaking of tiny characters, why not have something based on the Rescue Rangers? After all, Chip and Dale are already in the game. It would make a welcome return to the likes of Gadget and Monty, as well as some of Chip and Dale's more amusing mannerisms which seem to have slipped (like Dale's addiction to candy).

Totally agree which is why I said Ally. Omg Scroop is so freaky he would make a really scary Dream Eater! :O Had not thought of that!
Also regarding Rescue Rangers YES! Gadget was my fav!

Scroop is more like the main villain of the film anyway, since Silver has a change of heart. Throw in some solar surfing moments (or have Jim fighting with a similar style to 'free flow' using his own solar surfer) and I'd be more than happy.
St. Canard - The city inhabited and protected by Darkwing Duck.
Duckburg - Scrooge, Donald, and most of the Ducks' hometown. I think Mickey lives there, too. With that said, I guess Spoonerville (Goofy's hometown) would be good, too.
Cape Suzette - From TaleSpin; port city and center of operations for Higher for Hire, an air-freight shipping service for which Baloo serves as pilot. Shere Kahn also operates a business in the city there.
