Rayman Origins 3DS features StreetPass support

But will it feature multiplayer?

Rayman Origins 3DS sounds just like Rayman Origins Wii but with added StreetPass support.

That's what we can gather from Ubisoft's latest Rayman Origins fact sheet. Like the Wii version, Rayman Origins 3DS will feature over 60 levels and big boss battles all wrapped up in a glorious art style.

However, the 3DS version will also feature StreetPass support which means you'll be able to share your progression with others. This means they'll see the number of collectibles you've gathered, the amount of time you've played the game and which achievements you've unlocked. You'll also be able to share your avatar.

The only thing that hasn't been mentioned in the fact sheet is multiplayer. As you'll know if you've read our Rayman Origins Wii review, it's a brilliant four-player game but no mention has been made of this in the fact sheet.

Even so, the single-player game is a cracking 2D platformer which sees Rayman teaming up with Globox to restore peach to the Glade after it has been overrun by the Darktoons.

Rayman and Globox gain extra abilities as they progress through the adventure, enabling them to swim, dive and pilot the HairlyCopter.

They'll need these skills to help them defeat bosses which include a giant pink monster with hundreds of eyes, a possessed, mountainous golem and an evil daisy-cum-carnivorous plant.

Did you play Rayman Origins Wii? Are you looking forward to the Rayman Origins 3DS release date?.

Very much looking forward to this.

I have it on the xbox 360, such an beautiful and fun game but having it on the go would be great, so i'm very tempted...depends on Mario Party 9 and Mario and Sonic 2012 3ds

At least Origins is making use of the 3ds and capabilties, multiplayer doesn't bother me as much as its still a fab game played solo, so anyway...roll on march!

    :D

Was originally going to get the 3ds version but couldn't wait for it to come out, so I got the Wii version instead last year. It's an awesome game and I'd highly recommend the 3ds version to any platform lover who hasn't played it yet. I still have nightmares about the last level where you chase that dude (can't remember his name) along moving pipes, must've had to redo it about 2 dozen times!

Brilliant game. I already own it on PS3 so I'll likely leave the 3DS version. 3DS would have been the platform of choice for me if it launched when the others did.

Guy above me, collect all ten red teeth and do the real final level and final boss. Pretty challenging!

I have not got around to getting Rayman Origins on the Wii yet purely because i have been so busy with other recent Nintendo releases. I am going to wait for Rayman Origins 3DS to be released before i make the descion on which version to get but think i may get the Wii one as there proably won't be many more games to get for the Wii.

How do I collect red teeth?

^ There are ten of those 'chase the chest and survive' levels.

Get to the end of each one and you'll be rewarded with a red tooth. Grab all ten (i'm only on three), speak to the old man back at the tree/hub from the beginning and you unlock a bonus level pretty much...

Thanks for the tip, I might just try that tonight. I'm usually not bothered about 100% completing a game after I've finished the main game, I sometimes get to 99% and give up trying the last %

From what I've seen, Rayman Origins is so much easier with other players, but if only you could use Mii's. That would be brilliant using your face to run up walls, or you could put your Mii's faces on either the Skull Coins, Electoons or Derpy Medals (the extra collectable for getting enough Lums in a level).

Yeah, that unlocks the Land of the Livid Dead, the inhabitants in that place started the story off, with their annoyance of the noise of the Rayman crew.
