All copies of Kid Icarus Uprising will be packaged with a free 3DS Stand when the game is released in the UK on March 23rd.

Because you move Pit with the Circle Pad and use the stylus to target enemies, you essentially have to hold your 3DS in one hand. That won't be an issue with the 3DS stand.
Kid Icarus Uprising also works with the Circle Pad Pro so left-handed gamers will be able to hold the stylus with their left hand and move Pit with their right.
As we point out in our Circle Pad Pro review, this peripheral could really come into its own for left-handed gamers who want to play Kid Icarus Uprising.
What do you think of the 3DS stand?

Cannot wait for this, shame the stand cannot be used with the circle pad - useless for us lefties!
Who says it isn't?
Is there any leftie option for this game or are we buggered?
Wouldn't it be a problem for any games console? Surely a system with a standard controller is just as big a problem for left handed gamers as the layout on a 3DS - I don't understand why this is such a big issue, unless I'm missing something
Exactly what I was thinking. We've had about 7 years of stylus based gaming on the DS and not all games have the left-handded option. Still, if left-handed players feel they need it then its better than noot having it at all.
Sigh. Even if the stand is free I have a feeling they will be making me pay for that too here in Finland.
I wonder whether this will be used for other 3DS games......
WHY? I don't see the point of it, since when do you have to always hold the console with one hand using the stylus? Hasn't been a problem before.
I really want this, but as a leftie, I am not going to be able to play this without the circlepad pro, I also find it ridiculous that the controls are set up in such a way the your portable console now needs a hard top area such as a desk or table to play the game. No doubt it's going to be good but I can't help thinking that this would of probably suited the Wii/Wii U much better than the 3DS.
To me this is a clear case of trying to make hardware fit Software when i should always be the other way around.
I don't see the point in the stand either. Have there really been that many complaints of people struggling to hold the 3DS in one hand and using the stylus in another?
To clear up people's strange inability to understand why there needs to be a left-handed option.
Playing with standard control pads is okay, but stylus controls are using a pen, and that is where things are different.
Pretty much all touch screen games are fine, but Kid Icarus is different in that without the Circle Pad Pro it is impossible for lefties to play. I may be wrong but the only other ones I could think of where there HAD to be alternate controls are The World Ends With You and the two Kyle Hyde games.
I have no trouble just holding it, but I'm sure it will make it slightly more comfortable.
I think its a great free peripheral for when your playing your 3ds at home. Im glad they have chose to release it as a freebe in britain aswell as japan
