Bionic Commando Review

A game that is so Rad it's good

Rad Spencer has almost everything. He can run, he can shoot enemies and he can use his grapple hook to swing from platforms, but he can't jump. That's right, this is a platform game without a jump button.

Rad was recently reinvented in typically gritty fashion on Xbox and PS3, but this Game Boy version is so old-school by comparison it's almost cute. For a man with a mechanical arm, that's some achievement.

En route to rescuing Super Joe from an evil army, you'll be blasting enemies and ducking bullets before destroying a reactor as hordes of bad guys descend from above.

The controls take a bit of getting used to and it is challenging, but it's hard not to be won over by its quirks.
