We already know that the Wii U release date will fall in time for the year-end season but Satoru Iwata has also promised that the company will have sufficient software to ensure that the Wii U is at it's best when it is released.
Iwata also told investors that the company have learned from the 3DS launch.
"For the launch of new hardware, it is, of course, regarded as a sort of requisite not to miss the critical year-end sales season.
"The company is aiming to firmly complete the development of the entire system and prepare sufficient software so that the Wii U will be at its best at the time of the launch. Needless to say, we have learned a bitter lesson from the launch of the Nintendo 3DS."
As long as they have something for the Nintendo fan, the "casual" gamer and an exclusive "hardcore" gamer (sorry to use those words) the Wii U should have one of the best Nintendo launch line ups ever.
I'm with imbusydoctorwho. Price will definately be an issue as to whether I get it immediately. But of course, if there is thatt one essential launch game I may have very little choice.
as long as the price is right, (£250-280) and there is that killer-app on day one then obviously people including myself are going to go out and buy it. it wont sell if theres no games for it...
i dont think it will be at its best at launch, because nothing is, but i believe it has to have a console seller in it, like zelda or mario or even metroid, and that it will, because it sounds like ninty has had this in its back pockets for quite some time.
but seriously, best at launch is impossible for any games console, from nes to wii from ps1 to ps3, the best games have allways come out in its twilight years.
Of course I'm all for a good solid launch line-up... But saying that it will be at it's 'best' at launch, kind of sounds like it won't get any better, if you reach the top, or 'the best' surely the only way is down?
I'm sure Nintendo didn't mean this, but the could of chose better wording.
