These Layton Vs Wright screenshots were unveiled at the Ace Attorney 10th Anniversary event where it was revealed that Japanese anime studio Bones are handling the animation.

According to Andriasang, the plane is flying to London. Presumably Phoenix Wright is going to meet Professor Layton in his home town yet the game is set in Labyrinth City, a Medieval city where a witch trial is about to take place and rumours are spreading about the Story Teller who is said to write things that become true.

It's up to Phoenix Wright to defend the young girl who is accused of being a witch while Layton investigates the meaning behind these strange events.

What do you think of the animation? Want to see the game in action? Here's the latest Layton Vs Wright trailer.

Bones is doing the animation eh? That explains why it looks so good.

It might be worth adding that BONES is known for animating some absolute hit anime such as Fullmetal Alchemist (including Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), Eureka Seven, Soul Eater, Ouran High School Host Club, Wolf's Rain and the recent Un-Go.

    They're definitely top-tier animators.

Gotta love a good old crossover and when it's with games as good as these, it can't really fail! Animation looks fabulous, can't wait to check this out.

Don't forget Cowboy Bebop the Movie!
Seriously, those screenshots look awesome. I had always hoped to see Phoenix Wright get an anime adaptation, but I'm totally willing to settle for this.

However, I doubt that Nick and Maya are off to see Layton. The Ace Attorney games are set in the future (2016-2019 in Wright's story arc) and Layton exists in roughly the 1950s or 60s (although not officially stated in any case). If he was, Layton would probably be a very old man.

Personally, it's a shame that the game seems to be focussing more on Wright than Layton. I always did like Layton's character and gentlemanly wit.

My God! These screenshots look amazingly beautiful! I am so excited for this game.
I was thinking a similar thing MartinIsAwesome. It seems that they meet in the game, but I thought they were from completely different timelines. Hmmmm...
