Ace Attorney 5 announced

What format will Ace Attorney 5 be on?

Capcom have confirmed that Ace Attorney 5 is in development.

The company made the announcement at the Ace Attorney 10th anniversary event in Japan where some new Layton Vs Wright screenshots were also unveiled.

Capcom didn't announce an Ace Attorney 5 release date, nor did they announce which format it will appear on. All the previous Ace Attorney games have been on DS so fans will be hoping that the new game will be on 3DS.

The other big question is: who will be the main star? The first three Ace Attorney games featured Phoenix Wright before Apollo Justice replaced him for the fourth game.

All these games have been released in the UK but the second title in the second Ace Attorney Investigations spin-off series was never released over here.

Are you hoping that Ace Attorney 5 will be released on 3DS in the UK?

Hopefully it'll release on 3DS. Seeing how there will be a 123HD remake for iDevices (and Android is planned), AA5 will probably be released on iOS too.

I certainly... wasn't expecting it. I'm still glad (and really excited) to learn there's a new game coming, even though we don't know squat about it (not even who's working on it or the platform it'll be released on). I do hope it'll be on 3DS!

As for the iOs remakes... well, that's Capcom for you. They just can't help milking their own franchises :|
At least, people who already bought the games will get a free update!

If this is Pheonix Weight were talking about then yes please. If it's Apollo Justice then no thanks.

I've been waiting for ages for another Pheonix Wright game, because sadly, they aren't the most repayable game :(

Hell to the yes! I'd love this to be on 3DS (Woah, that rhymes) because Ace Attourney works so well on handheld :D

This needs to be a Phoenix x Apollo tag team game, throw some Edgeworth in there too and we have a perfect game :) Needs to be 3DS using the models from Layton vs Wright, or Capcom's own.

Of course! I really hope I'll get to play a new Ace Attorney game, even if it isn't my favourite blue-suited finger-pointer.
However, the reason we never got Ace Attorney Investigations 2 was because Capcom USA didn't want to translate it due to lack of demand and lower-than-expected sales of the first one. I wouldn't be surprised if the same went for Ace Attorney 5. Then again, I read that there are talks going on to see if AAI2 could possibly be made available in English as download, so who knows, we may end up getting it one way or another.

YES!!! Can't wait! I'm really hoping that this is the comeback of Phoenix Wright as his trilogy was definitely my favourite out of all of the games. But, whoever it may be, I'll still buy it and play it. Of course the ending of AA4 made it seem like we will be seeing more of Apollo Justice, so there's a good chance that AA5 will be an Apollo Justice game. But, hopefully, even if this is the case, we'd still get a chance to play as Phoenix Wright again.

I would also love to see AAI2 come over to the UK. I understand that of course they didn't get the response they wanted from the first Ace Attorney Investigations, and so decided not to release the sequel...but things change. Of course the AA series has a great fan base, but I don't think it's large enough. But I feel that the release of Layton Vs. Wright will show all those casual Layton fans out there that there are other games that can appeal to them too. It's a shame when great games sales are underwhelming.

Get some more news soon ONM!

This is amazing news, but I won't get my hopes up, because Capcom has screwed us over before, so until I see something material, I'm not going to get too excited.

I did enjoy 1 and some of 2, but it felt very samey. Didn't bother with the next two. The PW games need to allow for a deeper range of possibilities in its storyline and courtroom sections. Just choosing the right answer from a number of wrong ones, in order to progress, is hardly an enriching gaming experience; but then again, this is Capcom. Still, fingers crossed that they move the series in a new and exciting direction.
