Have you visited our Nintendo Tips, Cheats and Challenges forum yet? If you're stuck on your favourite game, looking for tips to make you better or want to help others get the most from their Nintendo games, this is the forum to visit. Each week, we feature the best of this forum on the website. This week we've got some great Mario Kart 7 cheats, tips and unlockables.
Mario Kart 7 cheats
We'll begin with Mario Kart 7 cheats. Well, it's only one cheat but it's the cheatiest shortcut since Mario Kart Wii's Grumble Volcano.
Cheatmaster30 reminded us of it on the ONM forum. As if we could forget. It's the Wuhu Mountain Loop shortcut/cheat, however you want to put it. As you can see by watching the video below, it cuts out half the course. Probably not something that will win your friends online.
Cheatmaster30 says: Go to the cave after the first lap checkpoint, then boost or jump into the water to the right. You get put down by Lakitu on the slope leading to the next checkpoint, skipping about half the course and nigh on making you impossible to beat/catch up to through 'legitimate' means.
Mario Kart 7 shortcuts and track tips
Mario Circuit 2 shortcut
Steno 1 says: Once you go up the ramp just before the end of the race you'll normally glide straight forward. But instead, turn left. It will appear like you're going to crash off road but if you aim to land on the yellow blocks, you'll bounce off and glide towards the finish line.
Koopa City
Fiery Hedgehog says: When you hit the glider ramp at the end of the course, steer over to the left. There's a giant clown car fan shooting out an updraft. You can use it to skip a little bit of the first corner. Make sure you start to drift to the right as soon as you land, or you'll probably collide with the column sticking out of the wall.
Rosalina's Ice World
Fiery Hedgehog says: Notice that after the first lap, part of the ice has vanished, meaning you'll land in the water on laps two and three. However, with a mushroom boost, you can still clear the gap and end up on the remaining ice. It's much faster than driving in the water.
GBA Bowser's Castle 1
Fiery Hedgehog says: When the glider ramp pops up for laps two and three, you can spot a ramp in the lava on the left, towards the end of the course. You'll either have to use a mushroom boost, or bounce on the smaller orange ramps leading up to it to reach it, but you can use it to skip the final corner.
Toad Circuit
Tamzily01 says: On Toad Circuit, last corner before the start/finish. Provided you get the angle right, you can Mushroom boost past the warp pipes. Just don't forget to hop and drift at the end of that bit so you don't lose speed.
Daisy Hills shortcut
Geengy says: Just before the gliding section steer left. You'll slow down, but you'll find a sloping hill with a speed boost at the end. Go up to get lots of height and you can drive on the houses!
Shy Guy Bazaar shortcut 1
Geengy says: In the main bazaar, steer to the far right and you'll see a ramp that takes you onto the roofs of the stalls(A lot like Daisy hills!), with plenty of ramps to trick on.
first...
place is where I'm going to come now that I've seen all these cheats
DO THIS MORE!
Your not being as clever as you think you are. Some interesting tips that even IGN game faqs didn't cover.
Finally! My life makes so much sense now! That's why, whenever I do the wuhu mountain loop, Suddenly, I'm not in first place anymore! Thanks for tellin' me!

Its also why half the people I race with online vote for this course :S Which is annoying, but its really funny when they start fighting over it and end up coming in last
why have i still yet to purchase this game
Is Nintendo planning to fix this ?...
ONM please dont publish the wuhu cheat in the mag just tell them to stop usung the glitch its ruining the community in mk7
not going to stop the other guys using it. and if you can't beat them... join em
To get all of the Golden Parts you need to spend a long, long time on the game. I have had Mario Kart 7 since the day of release and at the moment I have 7, 500 coins to my name despite playing it every single day.
Very Intresting indeed. I thought the Wuhu Island one was on another course. I also had no idea you could go under that water and through the castle.
Dont forget the boost after lakitu brings you back on the course press the accel button jst before your wheels touch the ground to get a boost it will take getting used to.
Right.
1) Mentioning the glitch on Wuhu Mountain Loop. You complained about the snaking technique in MK 64, Double Dash and MK DS as if it were cheating, yet seemingly promote an absurd shortcut that gives the player an incredibly unfair advantage over the opponents, especially ones that don't know about it. I really don't understand this logic, especially when it's not impossible to catch up with someone that's snaking, whereas with this shortcut you might as well not bother.
2) No offence, but I don't really see the point in the item guide. Most of the points made are very basic; pretty much everyone can figure this stuff out during the first hour of play (particularly holding bananas/shells behind you).
3) This one isn't a problem with the guide, but just an issue I have with the game itself - the unlockables. The content itself is alright (except the Queen Bee and Wiggler characters, when you could have had Waluigi/Dry Bones in their place), but the fact that there are no unlockables for 100cc and Mirror Mode. Unless you want the complete Golden vehicle set, both these modes are entirely pointless. Sure, you can use them for getting coins, but you can easily get them through 50cc or online play. Why are most of the unlocks for racing in 150cc? It could have been like this:
Mii: Win either of the Nitro/Retro cups in 50cc
Daisy: Win all the cups in 50cc
Wario: Win either of the Nitro/Retro cups in 100cc
Shy Guy: Win all the cups in 100cc
Wiggler: Win either of the Nitro/Retro cups in 150cc
Rosalina: Win all the cups in 150cc
Queen Bee: Win either of the Nitro/Retro cups in Mirror
Lakitu: Win all the cups in Mirror
Metal Mario: Get a 3 star ranking for any 4 cups
While it makes some of them seem harder to obtain, it gives you more of a reason to play all the modes. Having Metal Mario a reward for getting a couple of 3 star rankings also motivates you to perfect your scores. Instead what happens is that you're rewarded too much for 150cc, and earn barely anything for beating Mirror Mode, which is even harder than 150cc.
But hey, I'll deal with it. They could have been spaced out better, but that doesn't really stop me from enjoying the game.
Sorry but no they said it gives an unfair advantage to players who buy the game now and in the future if they patch it.
Hopefully it patched because of nintendo network.
whatttt! 5 seconds later 3+ have already commented wtf!!!!
oh i played 7 no competition for me sadly
Why is this on the homepage again?
Because we've updated it with more shortcuts...
love doing the final leap of faith on rainbow road. it feels so risky when you do it, but when you take first 5 metres before the finish line, you feel epic.
You dont need mushroom for the last rainbow road shortcut
Bingo! This is just what the world needs. People won't stop doing the Glitch, but if everyone knows about it and does it, it will lose all meaning!
Why tell people about the Wuhu Island glitch? All this is going to do is ruin the online play even more ¬_¬
This realy helps because im stuk on mario Kart 7.
What I do is make note of who takes the ultra shortcut on Wuhu Mountain Loop and then deliberately hit the people who take it on other tracks.
Could also have done with telling us how to get the Ghastly Glider...
Actually, you unlock a random kart custom piece every time you earn enough coins to unlock something new
Ghastly glider 5000 coins not randomly
*Looks at the fact my name is associated with Wuhu Mountain Loop's glitch*
Oh God, of all the things to be associated with, this is probably one of the worst. May as well just point out that while it needs to be known to give people a fighting chance against the Wuhu Mountain Loop spammers, that I didn't find it and only use it when others do as well.
Also, what kind of cheats are they accepting here? If more than track tips and shortcuts, I think they should not only cover the Beastly/Ghastly Glider but also the gold parts (kart, glider and wheels) as well as the character and part specific stats.
