Kirby's Dream Land 2 coming to 3DS eShop

Another Nintendo hero returns

Following on from the release of Wario Land and Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters, another big Nintendo game has been confirmed for release through the 3DS eShop in Japan. Yes, Kirby's Dream Land 2 will be released through the eShop in Japan next week.

Of course, the first game has already been released in the UK and if you've read our Kirby's Dream Land review, you'll know that experienced gamers can complete it within an hour.

Originally released for the Game Boy in 1995, Kirby's Dream Land 2 is slightly longer than the original but as with most Kirby games, it's pretty easy.

Still, it introduces three new animal allies who help Kirby in his quest to defeat the Dark Matter that has stolen the Rainbow Bridge.

Kirby can ride on Rick The Hamster's back who will run fast and keep his footing on ice.

Coo the Owl will carry Kirby, flying through harsh winds. With Coo Coo concentrating on flying, Kirby is free to inhale enemies when in the air.

Finally there's Kine the Ocean Sunfish who can carry Kirby in his mouth when swimming through powerful currents. This means Kirby can inhale when underwater.

Do you want Kirby's Dream land 2 to be released in the UK?

Oh dear Lord, yes. I swapped it years ago and have regretted it ever since.

If this gets released over here, I think it's likely to be my first proper 3DS eshop purchase.

Kirby's Dream Land was a fun if short adventure so am pleased to see that the sequel is longer. Will no doubt download the sequel upon its release in the UK. I hadn't played the original before it was released on the eshop and have not played the sequel so it will be good to see if it improves on the original.

After just completing Kirby 64 on Virtual Console, almost finished with Mas Attack and Kirby's Adventure Wii still to play through, I may be a bit Kirby'd out by the time this lands. Depending on how much longer it is, I may have to try it though.

This will be essential because the gameboy cart sells for stupid amounts on ebay!
