Best Water Pokemon
Looks like you don't like Mudkips
Mudkip, Oshawott, Psyduck. Just three awesome Water Pokemon that didn't make your top ten list of the best Water Pokemon.
After revealing your top 50 Pokemon in the new issue of Official Nintendo Magazine, we're taking things one step further. We're asking you to list your best Pokemon of each type, the aim being to create the ultimate Pokemon team. With 17 different types, our search for this team could take a while, maybe until the Pokemon VGC in August.
So we begin with Water. Considering they are one of the three types of Starter, it's no surprise to see that there are some great Pokemon who missed out.
10. Piplup
One of the three Starters in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, this penguin Pokemon is not only popular among ONM readers but he's also Pikachu's best friend in PokePark 2. One of many cute Pokemon, it eventually evolves into Empoleon, a powerful Pokemon who was named after Napoleon.

9. Milotic
The Tender Pokemon has been described as breathtakingly beautiful in the Pokedex which is quite incredible when you consider it evolves from Feebas who isn't exactly a looker. Still when Feebas beauty condition is high (you wouldn't think it possible) it evolves into Milotic, a peaceful Pokemon who dislikes conflict.

8. Lapras
Lapras is actually a dual ice/water type Pokemon. This large sea creature is supposed to be a Plesiosaur but it reminds us of Loosha from Professor Layton And The Spectre's Call. If Loosha had a shell on its back. Or if it had a short horn on its nose. Okay, it's just a big blue monster, alright. Our favourite thing about it is that it's called the Transport Pokemon which makes it sound like a bus, but it can move people and Pokemon across water. It is also bit of a beast in battle as it has the best base stats of any non Legendary unevolved Pokemon.
You say: Lapras forever. Been my favourite for nine or so years and will always stay there. Elegant and rigidly powerful, what more can you want? Still holds its own today. Faine
7. Gyarados
This was one of your top ten coolest Pokemon and it's easy to see why. What's most impressive about Gyarados isn't that it can use Fire and Electric attacks or that it has very high attack stats, but that it evolves from Magikarp - the most useless Pokemon on the planet.

swampert 5!! personally, 1 for me! suprised vaporeon got pole position actually, and i remember always wanting a milotic ever sicne i knew it was hoenn region (first region and best. for me) and seeing it on the anime, and being told bout it in the game... still dont have one
I'm suprised that Vaporeon is number 1, I thought it would be Blastoise like Charizard was number 1 in the Best Fire Pokémon blog. I've used 5 of these Pokémon which are Feraligatr, Blastoise, Squirtle, Piplup and Milotic.
My favourite water Pokémon is Basculin And to the guys who are writing the article... Alt Gr + e = é
I know but the accent often doesn't get picked up by Google or in our urls. Cut and paste the title into Facebook with the accent on for example, and it will read: Best Water Pokmon.
Really happy with how the results turned out. Didn't quite expect Vaporeon- I thought it'd be Squirtle or Blastoise becauase they're originals- but I'm still happy .

I agree. Mudkip is beast! So is Marshtomp, I think Mudkip has one of the best evolutionary chains.
Supporting my theory that Vaporeon is best Pokemon.
