Hardlys new, we've known about Keldeo for ages, it's just the first time it has been publicly used. Still, can't wait for the event for this.

    FIRST
And this was obvious. If you look on the Bulbapedia website at the pokemon list it shows all pokemon that haven't been released yet. If you have an Action Replay (yeah I know...I feel shame) you can obtain the pokemon early. Yeah...I may or may not have got this Pokemon already but I guess it was worth it

They will never change their plans just because we have revealed it by hacking the game. They will always run it like this. Hopefully, with Gen VI, they won't include them in the game but as patches released so we'll actually be surprised when they're revealed :)

Not everyone follows fansites like mine and so, to them, this is a brand new Pokémon.

I'm liking the look of this Pokémon,
Especially as its a fire type - my favourite!
Looking forward to being able to catch it!

    It's Water/Fighting, not Fire

No surprise, obviously which is a shame, hopefully Nintendo and Game Freak embrace DLC and make sure we don't find out about the Event Legendaries until necessary next gen! :)

Well, it's news to me at least. I missed out on B/W so I'll most definitely get the next 'main' game released.

    Enter d'Artagnan.

This time 4 years ago, Shaymin was officially revealed & Pokemon Platinum was announced on May 2008, so Pokemon Gray could be announced in May this year.

Very excited here! Gonna use that one lots when it comes to our games.

On another note - I dislike people who feel the need to put 'FIRST' on a comment. Let alone the fact it was second..

I'd say they fully embrace DLC as it is. It's free, they do loads of downloads...I'd say they fully embrace it now :)

yeah i have seen it before

  14. Centurium Monday 13th Feb 2012 at 13:46

Before I saw this Pokemon I wasn't really keen on it. But now, I love it!!! Keldeo FTW

water/fighting pokemon? seriously, these new pokemon from this generation aren't balanced in their types at all, and ruining the game.

  16. Serebii Monday 13th Feb 2012 at 14:23

Yeah, but this is the official unveiling

water/fighting pokemon? seriously, these new pokemon from this generation aren't balanced in their types at all, and ruining the game.

You do realise that one of the first generation's Pokémon was that type: Poliwrath.

The fighting-type fits as all the Pokémon of this group are it
    Cobalion: Steel/Fighting
    Terrakion: Rock/Fighting
    Virizion: Grass/Fighting
    Keldeo: Water/Fighting

Trust me, it fits and it doesn't screw balance or ruin the game. New and unique type combinations prevent it being stagnated

  17. colourblindyoshi Monday 13th Feb 2012 at 14:32

seribii, well said about poliwrath. but some of the types in black and white are ridiculous - look at scraggy - dark and fighting, basically covers all bases. pokemon are meant to have weaknesses, and if you remove almost all of them it all falls apart - the combination of dark and fighting negates the physic weakness of the fighting, and since fighting is probably the best type in the game, with lots of advantages and few weaknesses, they effectively made a type tank.

same goes for a lot of the new pokemon. like, emolga - wow, thats fair. its a beast of pokemon weak to ice and little else.

eventually we'll be getting ice/fighting and then no one has a chance.

    But they still have weaknesses

Scraggy is weak to Flying and Fighting
Emolga has the same typing as Zapdos. Weak to Ice and Rock.

These type combinations have their own strengths and weaknesses. That's the whole point. There is nothing that is without fault.

It's not just about type, it's about stats, movepool etc.

This pokemon looks cool and I cant wait for the event, but it looks alot like one of them my little pony

  20. Cheesemonster Monday 13th Feb 2012 at 16:32

Type wise I like it but it lacks in the looks department. Terrikion, Virizion and Cobalion look a thousand times cooler. And it isn't as strong as it's made out to be.

  21. BYL Monday 13th Feb 2012 at 16:53

Can't wait for the Keldeo event to arrive :)

  22. Da_Epic_Fail Monday 13th Feb 2012 at 17:03

I hope Keldeo is a wi-fi event when they eventually release it, that makes it so much easier to get one rather than the in-store events, since many places are often left in the dark. Keldeo is awesome by the way. :D

  23. Waldy565 Monday 13th Feb 2012 at 17:17

when i saw this, just went oo ooo! :)

  24. RaidingRaichu Monday 13th Feb 2012 at 17:25

Wow! New Pokemon! Oh... It's Keldeo...

Huh? It's exactly as strong as Terrakion, except it's Special-focused rather than Physical

This made me chuckle. If you think types are so important, you should at least check that they haven't been seen before. And I'd love to see you try out in Ubers with a team of Emolga.

  27. colourblindyoshi Monday 13th Feb 2012 at 18:46

shmilly, okay, fine, funny, but my main beef is pokemon having new types to negate weaknesses, like emolga (having flying to evade weakness to ground) and gallade (losing its weakness to dark) and other pokemon of that vein. because if you're adding another type, you should add both to its weaknesses and its strengths to make it more balanced, but these dont level the playing field. as for the team of ubers -

lets take red's pokemon from hg/ss:

emolga beats lapras, because lapras gets owned by electricity, and wouldnt get a chance to use its ice capabilities, or just get one emolga at most.
    venasaur gets owned by flying
    blastoise gets owned by electricity
snorlax has level field - but considering it uses earthquake a lot, not as much attacking capability
pikachu has no advantage over emolga
charizard has no advantage over emolga

okay, you're not going to beat him just with emolgas, but you shouldnt get that close with one pokemon

plus, emolga has type advantage over all the unova starting pokemon final forms.

advantages shouldnt negate disadvantages - its meant to be a level playing field.

okay, fine, you're not going to win the battle with just emolga, but you shouldnt be able to just be able to do that.

  28. Spyro Cool Monday 13th Feb 2012 at 19:26

Oh when the title said 'new Pokemon', I thought it meant one that NOBODY has seen

  29. UnovaDweller Monday 13th Feb 2012 at 19:42

I love it when stuff like this happens. But that's because I know we're one step closer to Pokemon Grey, and therefore Gen 6. I'm impatient for them already.

  30. geengy Monday 13th Feb 2012 at 19:46

Let's see how long Masuda keeps this up when he reveals Maloetta, then genesect. Stupid cheaters.

Then again, why do these events already have to be built into the game? That way, every time Masuda announces something on pokemon smash, the crowd actually ooh and aah.

  31. TheNUKEnukeM Monday 13th Feb 2012 at 20:09

Awesome. Didn't get black and white because of their release date. (A month before the 3DS launch). I will get Gray though.

They ignore the fact that we delve into the game, as they should.

We knew about Arceus at launch of DP in 2006, yet they still didn't reveal it until 2009.

This is nothing new. I don't get why people are suddenly acting like it

  33. CraigEmberson Tuesday 14th Feb 2012 at 04:07

All we need now is for them to reveal Kyurem's second forme. The game data for Black & White lists the number of formes a Pokemon has, so that the game can differentiate each forme. For Kyurem - it says "1", meaning it has 1 alternate forme - despite a sprite not existing in the game's data.

Its hardly new everybody has known about Keldeo for ages!!!

But I am excited about new movie still waiting for 14th Movie: Black Hero and White Hero to come to the UK

    I said they look cooler.

  38. dirge71 Friday 17th Feb 2012 at 20:47

This is not really news. Anyone using pokemon online or playing pokemon competitivly will have heard of/seen/used keldeo already.
When will we get the legitimate keldeo?

Emolga may have decent typing, but it still has rubbish stats. In battles against other people, it is extremely unlikely that emolga will be used, even if you are playing in that tier. If it is, most things can deal with it.

Also, emolga isn't available in HG/SS, which is why Ash's Team being weak to it is not relevant. You will struggle to find a single pokemon that is equipped to deal with the final boss completely and is available in the game, unless you just level something to 100 and then just own everything.

  40. pokemon337 Friday 17th Feb 2012 at 22:22

I'm really starting to think I shouldn't have sold my pokemon black for Ł18.
