Given that One Direction promoted Pokemon Black and White, you expect that the boy band's favourite Pokemon might include one from Generation V. Well, it seems that the pop stars are more hardcore than you think as their favourite Pokemon all appeared in Pokemon Red and Blue.
We asked One Direction to pick their favourite Pokemon of all time for a special feature in the March issue of Official Nintendo Magazine and all their picks are from Generation 1.
Charizard - the Pokemon you voted as the coolest Pokemon ever and the best fire Pokemon - comes in at number two.
Number three is Blastoise, the cover star of Pokemon Blue.
Perhaps it should be no surprise as back in April last year, Zayne and Liam have been playing since they were kids while Niall plays Pokemon on the toilet.

yeah, they could have said something else... i doubt they play it on the toilet really (does anyone play ds on the toilet?) or at all... lets be honest, these three are barely anyone's favourite since there are hundreds of them, and we all level up and train with diffent ones.

To me, Pikachu is the most original and smartest Pokemon design... but I do think Generation 5 has some really great return-to-form designs, like Galvantula, Braviary and Chandelure.
I DEMAND TO KNOW WHY THEY HAVE NOT MENTIONED MAGIKARP.
It would have been so much more believable if they'd said a really obscure one like Shuppet or Volbeat.
Like they even care about Pokemon, and to think that if you were dedicated enough to play Pokemon on the toilet, you'd have picked a more less known Pokemon than Pikachu. And they did the Pokedex 3D adverts. Heck, even my little sister, who hasn't placed a finger on any Pokemon game as far as I know, picks the ever-adorable Buneary as her favourite. Not that I care anyway, their music is rubbish.
