Nintendo has confirmed that Kid Icarus Uprising will come with 6 AR cards when the game is released in the UK on March 23rd.
However, if you pre-order the game, you'll receive an extra pack containing 24 AR cards.
You'll also be able to get hold of exclusive Kid Icarus AR Cards through Club Nintendo. For 250 Stars you'll be able to get 2 packs containing 6 AR cards each.
Some packs will also include extremely rare cards.
Place these cards next to each other and you'll be able to watch characters from the game battle with each other.
In other news, Masahiro Sakurai announced that you will be able to get new weapons for Kid Icarus Uprising via StreetPass. You'll be able to share your weapons with other Kid Icarus: Uprising owners whereupon the selected weapon will be turned into a Weapon Gem.
Shared Weapon Gems can be converted into real weapons by paying Hearts. Players can also fuse Weapon Gems together by paying Hearts to create a more powerful Weapon.
Looks like I'm gonna have to pre-order this then. Also, I've built up a fairly hefty collection of stars, so I'll probably use a some of them to get a few packs of those cards. Multiplayer mode looks enjoyable from what I saw on the video.
still not sure what the point of the AR feature is.... :S
I'm not bothered with AR cards. I have pre-ordered it because I want it day 1.
Pre-order from anywhere or somewhere specific? Pre-ordered it off Amazon a few weeks back.
Preordering it will be a must. I'll get it on launch so I might as well preorder it and get the extra AR cards.

Is it a default six AR cards you get? (ie. Pit Medusa Paulentin etc.)

i want this game so much but im still catching up on games that came out last year(super mario 3d land)
Well I've pre-ordered it with GAME.co.uk, but I might have to change that as they've gotten into all these troubles and might not even stock it, let alone give away a pre-order bonus. So is it pre-order from anywhere that gets you cards? I'm guessing it will be a case of the first shipment of games will have the extra cards, so you probably don't need to pre-order just make sure you get it as soon as you can. Then the future shipments won't have extra cards. Right?
Really glad to see the AR cards coming to Club Nintendo for a reasonable amount of stars, 250 stars for a pack is a great idea as anyone who purchases Kid Icarus Uprising will be able to get an extra pack when they register it on Club Nintendo.

Register your Kid Icarus game within a week and get 2 packets of extra cards sent to you.

it says you get an extra 24 AR cards pack if you pre-order...but does it matter where you pre-order? what I mean is that you can pre-order wherever and you still get the 24 AR cards? :s
