New Dragon Quest X characters unveiled

Plus new Job details

Meet King Bagudo and Eidos, two new characters you'll bump into in Ogleed, Dragon Quest X's land of the ogres.

King Bagudo is the ruler of the kingdom of Glenn. He looks angry but apparently is a bit of a hero around these parts.

Then there's Eidos, a travelling wise man the Wise Man who senses changes in the world and tries to locate and stop the source. He'll guide you throughout your adventure.

In addition to revealing these two new characters, Square Enix divulged more information about the Job system.

Before taking a job, you register at the Guild House before purchasing a recipe from a shop or finding one in a treasure boxes or a secret area. Only then can you take a job and start creating items which you can use or sell. You can also go on quests which involve making daily offerings or taking part in more complex mini story events.

I'm sure Dragon Quest is a great series, having spawned so many sequals and has evidently become more popular recently on Nintendo consoles... but I just can't stand Akira Toriyama's art style.

I really like the way the characters have been drawn. I like how they're different to what you normally see. Hopefully, the game will continue the quality they've produced so far.

Looks very good the more characters the better. One good thing about DQ games there so full of life. But i still like the idea of timed events that take place in the game that's still one of my ideas i'd like to see in the game. Also the art style has always suited the games. i know you may not like his style because of what else he's done but this game is still gonna be amazing so try to look past you hatred otherwise you will be missing out on a top quality title.

Except that Akira Toriyama, the man responsible for said artwork, has done the same for every other Dragon Quest game as well as the Dragon Quest Monsters spin-offs, Chrono Trigger and Blue Dragon, and his art style for all these games is exactly the same. In that respect, I would argue that its not that different to what you see normally.

But maybe its me. I just find his character designs really lackluster and 'obvious' if that makes sence. Like he only has one idea. I know he has his fans thanks to the hugely popluar Dragon Ball and the like and many of you will curse my name for saying this, but again that's another thing that I just don't get the appeal of.

Yeah but compare it to every other game on the planet they aren't exactly normal.
