Kingdom Hearts 3D is 35 hours long

Dream Drop Distance will be a long RPG

It will take at least 35 hours to complete Kingdom Hearts 3D. That's the word from producer Tetsuya Nomura who has been speaking with Famitsu ahead of the games's release in Japan on March 29th.

However, he added that the game will last even longer if you spend time breeding your Dream Eaters by collecting items before raising them by giving them special items.

The lifespan of the game will also be increased when you get stuck into the multiplayer mini-games which see Dream Eaters battling against each other.

Kingdom Hearts 3D will be released in the UK in 2012. Look out for a big preview in the next issue of Official Nintendo Magazine.

This has been my most-wanted game for the 3DS ever since it was announced. Now that it's set to be packed with nearly as much content as the console releases, I'm doubly excited.

Not long enough. Xenoblade was 80 hours long, and I don't think it's that preposterous to think of it as the yardstick new JRPGs should measure their games by.

I personally think it's not long enough. While I don't expect a full 80 hour trek with Xenoblade but I would prefer at least 50 hours which is what Pokemon would offer me (Except Black and White which was far too short!)

Kingdom Hearts can never reach 80 hours of gameplay, I mean....Xenoblade has something called sidequests and collection. Sure, Kingdom Hearts may have some but it's designed to ease a player into RPGS and not worry about stats (but still can be hard...KH1, i;m looking at YOU)

I look forward to it, sounds longer than Birth By Sleep! :D

I don't understand why there are so many disney characters (other than them being involved in production). Are they that significant to the game or am I being stupid and the whole game is based on disney????????

What people need to consider is that Kingdom Hearts isn't a JRPG, it's an action-adventure (officially it's an action-RPG, but that's not really a genre, all things considered), a genre which is much more difficult to pan out. What you're asking for is Nomura to draw out the game beyond its required length, and basically add in tons of filler... this isn't even really a main game, it's more like a taster for what's to come in KHIII.

I would prefer at least 50 hours which is what Pokemon would offer me (Except Black and White which was far too short!)

Giving a Kingdom Hearts game the same play-time as Pokémon is ridiculous, as it can extend into hundreds of hours when you go about doing post-game.

Kingdom Hearts can never reach 80 hours of gameplay

one of my files on KHII reached 110+ hours, so...

I look forward to it, sounds longer than Birth By Sleep! :D

Birth by Sleep was about forty-ish hours, seeing as each scenario averaged about 12/13 hours plus 1-2 hours for the final episode

I don't understand why there are so many disney characters (other than them being involved in production). Are they that significant to the game or am I being stupid and the whole game is based on disney????????

The main basis of Kingdom Hearts is the main characters visiting Disney worlds and interacting with the characters, so there's obviously going to be a lot of Disney. Usually they don't link very heavily into the main story, but act more like story arcs to extend the game's lifespan, if you see what I mean.
