The Game And Watch originals in this collection are only worth seeking out if you're a gamer who is interested in Nintendo's history, as they're so basic it's hard to imagine anyone other than the inquisitive will get much out of them.
The modern versions created for Game Boy Color, however, are a different matter. They're equally basic to play as, aside from Donkey Kong, you're just pressing left and right, but Nintendo went on the charm offensive by setting them in the Mushroom Kingdom.
So, in Parachute, Mario is attempting to catch Toads, Yoshis and Donkey Kong Jr in his rowing boat as a Cheep Cheep swims beneath you while Chef finds Peach flipping food in her pan before Yoshi catches it in his gob.
They're all so basic yet so addictive and it is very easy to waste plenty of time whacking Paratroopas and Boos in Yoshi's frantic Vermin game.
