LEGO City Undercover Wii U details revealed, screenshots

Open world block-buster gets an airing at E3.

Nintendo has given the world a glimpse and Warner Bros. and Traveller's Tales' upcoming open world LEGO game, LEGO City Undercover, for Wii U. Here are the first screenshots.

It's an open world crime caper featuring driving, platforming and a heap of other different mission types.

Those missions are delivered via the Wii U GamePad, with an interactive map and characters popping up to show you where you should be heading next and what to expect when you get there.

You play as Chase McCain, an undercover detective armed with clever disguises. You have to look for clues in a bid to stop the fiendish Rex Fury and end his crime wave in LEGO City.

You can go undercover with a variety of disguises, including a firefighter,

a construction worker and a robber, and use their unique abilities to

solve puzzles and access new areas of the city.

There are more than 100 vehicles for players to collect, including sports cars, motorcycles and even aircraft.

As for the GamePad, you can scan environments for criminals using the GamePad's motion functionality, with an x-ray style version of the world appearing on the small screen.

A version of the game, known as LEGO City Undercover is also set to launch on the 3DS too.

Totally agree, it's good to see them trying something a bit different with the lego franchise.

This is interesting, but I'm not completely sure if I will get it.

The trailer was good, laughed when the person shouted 'Why was that even there?' when he jumped through the fan.

To cool down the area, lego person, to cool down the area.
