Satoru Iwata has announced that Nintendo will reveal the Wii U release date and price in the Autumn.
Nintendo had previously revealed that they wouldn't be announcing the the Wii U price and release date at E3 2012 but that didn't stop some fans from being a bit disappointed with the lack of information. However, you won't have long to wait.
Speaking with investors, Iwata said: "We made a statement in public before E3 that we would announce neither the launch date nor the price (of the Wii U) at E3. It's nothing new at all because, when we introduced the Wii, the Nintendo DS and the Nintendo 3DS, we didn't announce the launch date or the price at the E3 shows, either.
"It is our intention to convey a strong message this fall with the information about the price and the launch date and then to create momentum good enough to convince our consumers to buy (the Wii U."
Don't expect Nintendo to announce the Wii U price for Europe, however as Nintendo leave it up to individual retailers to set the price. Iwata has said that the Wii U price won't be too high.
