First Professor Layton 6 trailer

See the first gameplay video of the final Professor Layton game

Here is the first Professor Layton 6 trailer. Unveiled by Level 5 chief Akihiro Hino during Nintendo Direct, Professor Layton 6 is the final game in the Layton adventure series which began with Curious Village.

As with the other games in the prequel trilogy (Professor Layton And The Spectre's Call, Professor Layton And The Miracle Mask), Professor Layton 6 stars Layton, his apprentice Luke Triton and his assistant Emmy Altava. Together, they will have to solve puzzles in this new adventure.

Professor Layton 6 takes place one year after the events of Miracle Mask and begins with Layton receiving a letter (surprise) from a person who claims to have found a living mummy.

The trailer begins with Luke bouncing on a sofa before we see a girl who appears to be frozen in ice. No doubt this is part of a wider mystery that Layton needs to solve. The cutscenes look terrific and we can see an example of an animated puzzle featuring seals. We'd imagine that this will look great in 3D.

Professor Layton 6 will be released for 3DS in Japan in 2013.

Looks awesome. Really sad that it may be the last one though.

I suppose six games is still a lot, but at least they're (potentially) choosing to not milk an ace series.

So can anyone suggest even the roughest of translations for "Professor Layton Choubunmei to A no Isan"?

I wish I knew what he was saying. This does look great though. It looks like there's going to be something happening with Emmy. Then again, I guess there would have to be seeing as she's not in the original trilogy. A while ago I guessed that she might marry Inspector Grosky, but now I'm not so sure.

What to say about a series i have loved for years ending...its a sad idea that i will not always have the amazing adventures with luke and the professor..but i suppose it had to end some time. From that small little town to the grand scale battle in has been a truly amazing series to play. Now with the last game being made..its good that they are ending it with a good one.The art style has changed slightly from the odd 3d figures we see in the mask of miracles..and now it dosnt seem as..odd..its more cartoonish..more....more early laytonish. Its good they are making it look like the older entrys...and even though I loved the art style of the old ones..this one looks beautiful.Iam indeed sad the series is ending...but..iam looking forward to mask and..well 6 of course...but yes..they both look wonderful.Really must get me one of those 3ds xls....would be a good idea..

this may just be my mind being stubon as i love the seris and don't want it to end but they must mean this is the last game in the prequel trilogy as they have been considering layton wii u and the end of lost future makes it sound like there will be a sequel to it (or maybe a sequel trilogy if we're lucky) :)

I've already posted by opinions, but one more can't hurt.

So, compared to what we've seen of The Miracle Mask, the 3D animation looks a lot smoother, the textures are lovely and they all seem to blend with the surrounds a whole lot more naturally.
There also seems to be some extra focus on Emmy. No doubt she plays a bigger role in the plot, and maybe it will explain her absence in the original trilogy.
