New Super Mario Bros 2 guide: How to find the hidden exits

Find the hidden stages in Mario's latest 2D adventure...

You've discovered how to get 1 million coins and we've told you where to find the trickiest Star Coins and now, for our final New Super Mario Bros 2 guide, we're telling you how to reach all the hidden exits. Armed with these three guides, you should have no problem reaching gold standard.

Mind The Door

Visit the World 1 tower and play through it as normal. Shortly after the half-way flag you'll find this door. You don't need to be an expert on doors to figure out that it might be a good idea to head inside this one, so do it. Don't worry about power-ups or anything like that, though: you won't need any for this particular secret exit.

Go Right Ahead

Once you go through the door you'll be presented with this bonus room featuring a roulette coin block. The obvious thing to do here is hit the coin block, then go through the door to return to the level. Instead, wait until the green blocks move and walk through the gap on the right when it opens up. Then keep walking out of the screen.

This takes you to a secret room with a yellow pipe, which leads you to the roof of the tower and a secret flagpole. This unlocks the World 1 Cannon, which is a tricky level where Mario constantly runs and you have to time his jumps properly. Limber up those fingers and finish the level to unlock the special Mushroom World.

Umm, hang on, there are three problems with this - One, chances are if you've gotten all the star coins, you've probably got all the secret exits too. Two, I think by now nearly everyone knows where they are anyway. And three, you haven't even said which course each secret exit is.

Whilst I appreciate the gesture, and that there isn't much news for you right now, this really does feel like it was knocked up in a lunch time just for the sake of posting something. time would have been better spent posting a poll for us o vote on, then posting the results and comments on the results (As you often do).
