Brain Training 3DS UK release date confirmed

Or, to give it its full title, Dr Kawashima's Devilish Brain Training: Can You Stay Focused?

Nintendo has confirmed that the new Brain Training 3DS game will be released in the UK in March 2013. Yes, the release date for Dr Kawashima's Devilish Brain Training: Can You Stay Focused has been set for 8 March, in the same month as Luigi's Mansion 2.

Brain Training 3DS is known as Brain Age: Concentration Training in the US where it will be released between January and March 2013, but the Japanese version is called Demon Training in Japan to reflect the difficult nature of the new tests (and the fact that Dr Kawashima appears with Devil horns).

The new game differs from the original Brain Training DS game in that it promises to test your powers of concentration and working memory. So, for example, one of the maths challenges has you scribbling the answer to the previous question.

Did you buy any of the Brain Training games? Do you want to test your powers on concentration on Dr Kawashima's Devilish Brain Training: Can You Stay Focused? And what do you think of that title?

Why isn't it called Demon Training over here? It's almost like they think we're too unintelligent to understand that it's part of the Brain Training series, or that we'd take offence by trying to train to be demons or something.

Demon Training was such a more unique and interesting name. We need unique and interesting today more than ever.

I'm pleased that it is but I'm not sure how I would buy it. My initial plan if it came over was to download it, but that was before the eShop prices turned out to be so high. Now I'm wondering whether a physical copy would be better, even if I lose the convenience of a download copy.

Another game initially expected for this year that has slipped into the spring 2013 schedule. With Nintendo publishing their knowledge that the 3DS is losing steam outside of Japan, i thought they'd really be pushing for sales this Christmas. Not everyone is going to be buying a WiiU, but many people already own a 3DS. I feel like they're throwing money away here. Either way, I can't wait for this game and to be fair spring next year looks amazing with this, Luigi's Mansion, Animal Crossing and Pikmin 3.

It's actually much simpler than that. Remember that NES game, demon world... or whatever? No? Perhaps that's because it wasn't released here. Because it had Demon in the title. Whether it's because of the whole 'Christian' thing, but we just don't do 'demon' in titles. 'We' don't like it. There's more examples of it, but that's the only one I can think of, off the top of me head.
Back to the matter at hand, I'm not so sure this'll be the killer app it was for the DS. People who have the DS version won't feel the need to update, though have a star-studded advertising campaign (Chris Tarrant did the original, I believe) may fix that somewhat.

Why is it coming here at all? Why would anyone want this "game"? (Note how game is between quotation marks, indicating how it's trying to be a game, but isn't really one... At all... Ever...)

I wouldn't mind it,as it does look a lot harder than the DS games, but ever since the Layton series has come out,I've gone of the Brain Training series.

That's quite a closed minded response. It's a game made up of brain teasers that test your concentration, which I find rather appealing. And the primary reason why it's coming here at all is most likely because of how well the first two Dr. Kawashima games sold in this country. I'm not saying it'll ever do as well, but certainly Nintendo recognises that there's a market and like any business they're simply appealing to it.
