SiNG Party launch trailer revealed

First look at Wii U's answer to karaoke

Earlier today we posted the first US Wii U advert, which featured a slew of Wii U games all wrapped up in one huge neon-lit structure. Well, now it's becoming clear that this first US Wii U advert is actually a full-blown campaign.

The SiNG Party launch trailer is clearly an embellished version of the clip shown in the advert, featuring a room full of people singing and dancing. While most karaoke games focus the singer on the screen, the Wii U allows the singer to focus on the audience, emulating the actual experience of karaoke.

SiNG Party will be released on the 18 January 2013 in the UK.

I don't see the point in this. All this game does is play songs and show lyrics on the gamepad. It's not interactive at all, it looks like it spent a week in development at the most.

It is actually, this just doesn't show it. It's surprisingly got a lot of different modes... You can also have the others dancing with Wii Remotes and it judges dancing, singing, harmonies and vocal power. You can also make the voice come over the music or the other way round, to force people to start singing acapella without them knowing, then you can add in percussion and distort the music.

Maybe they could have an option to use wiimotes as well for some people, so that they're dancing can actually be rated and it gives the players something to work towards...
