Wii U eshop - first picture of the Japanese version

Do you like the look of the new eShop?

Nintendo has been very secretive about the Wii U eShop but now the first picture of the digital store has emerged on Nintendo's Japanese Wii U website.

This shows you what the Japanese version of the Wii U eShop looks like. As you can see in this picture, Mario and Luigi are welcoming you to visit the store where you'll be able to download full-price games such as Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros U and independent titles that aren't available in the shops like Runner2, Trine 2 and Chasing Aurora.

One screenshot of not-actually-the-store doesn't really give us enough to go on for an opinion!

Gotta love Mock-ups. They may not represent the final finished product but they give you a flavour on what to expect. It's neat, tidy, and looks extremely accessible. Add funds using the + button? Quick and easy.

The finished article should be a gem if this is indeed so.

Well, there isn't exactly much to go on!!! It looks reasonably nice and clean - I think Europe and the Americas may get a slightly different layout perhaps?

Looks better than the Wii's eshop thing did. Althought I'm not opposed to the sim-ish elevator music that the Wii had, I'd like to be treated with Nintendo-exclusive music, even if it's only 10 or 15 different tracks. IE the original Mario theme, Zelda theme, Mute City theme, Pikmin, Metroid, Starfox, Pokemon, etc. Just playing on a loop, nothing fancy. That would be awesome. 8)

    Totally agree with you!

One screen shot is nothing to go by and any comments on this picture are just pointless at this stage.
