Google Maps app coming to Wii U

The big announcement from Nintendo Direct Japan

Nintendo's Satoru Iwata has confirmed that a Google Maps app will be coming to Wii U in 2013

After announcing that Wii U Panorama View is coming to Japan in Spring 2013, Iwata surprised Nintendo fans watching Nintendo Direct by showing off the Google maps Streetview working on Wii U

The Google Maps app on WiiU will be available in Japan from the end of January and will be free to download until the end of March. It's also coming to the UK, but Nintendo didn't say how much you'd have to pay for it after that date.

Using Google Maps, you can zoom in on an area in the map to be presented with a view of the street. On your computer you'd then use the mouse to pan around the street but on Wii U you can move your GamePad to look around.

...wouldnt it make more sense on a handheld? I know the 3DS possibly wont be powerful enough but still..

That's cool! I agree with Komodo though, would be better if it was handheld. I'm sure they could make it for the 3DS.

Good idea but it needs to be free of charge in my opinion.

Nintendo associating themsleves with a company that has avoided paying tax in the UK is a bad idea, i also think that this app is pointless, i wont be donoading it.
