Rayman Legends UK release date confirmed

The best Wii U game of 2013?

Nintendo have confirmed the Rayman Legends UK release date. Ubisoft's new platformer, one of the best Wii U games we've played, will be released in Europe on 28 February.

Rayman Legends is the follow-up to classic Wii platformer Rayman Origins. Starring Rayman, Globox, plus new characters Murphy and Barbara, it looks like one of the best Wii U games to showcase Nintendo's big asymmetric gaming idea.

One player can use the GamePad to control Murphy while the other controls Rayman on the Remote. The player in charge of Murphy can swat enemies and cut ropes on the touchscreen and also rotate the new controller to rotate platforms.

    So soon?!

I don't think I'll be done with my current Wii U games by then!

What the heck?! I preordered this from Zavvi recently and they said the release date was at some point near the end of January. This isn't the first time the retailer has made up release dates. Very annoying.

Well if the company hadn't released a release date then why would it be real?

Zavvi still have Metro Last Light listed for release, even though it was cancelled ages ago.

"The best Wii U game of 2013?"

A little soon to be saying! And no matter how good it is, I'm hoping for some solid games from Nintendo next year which knock it out of the park

Good to see we're getting it towards the tail-end of the launch window.

Although 'Best Wii U Game of 2013?' Nowhere close. Depending on what software line-up we'll have available it may not even feature in the top 5.

While its too early to judge how good Legends will be, if we're basing it off Origins, the best platformer of the generation, I think its a pretty good bet to say Legends will be one of the WiiU's stronger titles in 2013.

Played a demo of it in my local GAME store and I am, very impressed. Looks like a fun game but the only bad side is that now I have to pick between this, Lego City and Scribblenauts!!!

Hmm, many other gaming websites and amazon UK are now reporting this is coming out on the 1st of March? Very odd..

They're right, the release date was confirmed by Ubi to be 1st March shortly after everyone, ONM included, posted the 28th Feb date.

Yeah, the 28th February is a Thursday, and Nintendo tend to release titles on Fridays. So March 1st would be the actual date.
