TV Show King Review

80s-style Quiz Show hits WiiWare

TV Show King is like one of those pub quiz machines that have eaten up far too much of our money after a couple of pints. It's addictive, it's fun with four players and robs you just when you think you've won.

It's a mock television-style quiz show that looks like it could have been on ITV in the 80s. The presentation is spot-on right down the presenter's dreadful hair-do and his bimbo sidekick.

As for the questions, we're talking a Millionaire-style multiple choice quiz with the first player to answer gaining maximum points. When each round ends you're given the chance to win more cash by spinning the wheel but you could just as easily lose the lot. We can already envisage Remotes being chucked to the floor in living rooms up and down the country...

Despite regularly cheating you, TV Show King is enjoyable and at 1,000 Wii Points is far cheaper than that other Wii quiz game, Smartypants. Not to mention those infernal pub quiz machines.

This is a very very good game! Ok, not that good in 1 player but It's so much fun in multiplayer and that makes it an easy reccomendation. I say, go buy it! It rocks! It's also very good value considering you can get Pac Man and Soccer (both of them) for the same price. Wiiware is looking good.

You gave Toki Tori a lower score than TV Show King!?

I don't trust you as reviewers anymore.

This game actually looks very good, for what it is! I'm tempted to get this. I think the review was very fair!

I might really get this, do you have to have more than 1 remote for everyone to play lik 1 for each player or is 1 enough?

I've only read the score for LostWinds, Final Fantasy MLAAC and this one

Do the scores seem a bit to nice?

I might get this game. I'm new to the Wii Shop Channel so I'm thinking on maybe getting:-

    - A NES Game and Internet Channel (both 500 points)
    - TV Show King
    - Dr Mario and Virus Buster
