New Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate screenshots showcase Volvidon

Meet Monster Hunter's farting monster

Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate Edition may be a remake of classic Wii game Monster Hunter Tri but it does feature all-new monsters. Volvidon is the latest to be profiled on the Capcom Unity website and you can see him in action in this new gallery of screenshots.

Volvidon is a spitting and farting monster who lives in the volcano, where the extreme heat will cause your health to deplete slowly and unless you have some cool drinks, you'll pass out.

This beast has an armadillo-like shell and physique, meaning it can roll into a ball and quickly move forwards, backwards or sideways depending on where you and your companions are.

As well as rolling into a ball, it can also spit a paralysing ball and follow it up with a rolling attack. Then it can pull you in with its stretchy tongue and even break wind to prevent you from eating and drinking. A problem when you need the cool drinks in the volcano but deodorant will neutralise the effect. This monster is disgusting.

Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate Edition is one of the best Wii U games of 2013.

It's interesting seeing these monsters being given their English names. I'm quite happy with Volvidon, suits it well.

Actually cannot wait for the release of MH3U... It's still the only reason to buy a Wii U. I've been playing through the MH3G NSTC-J version and I've got to say hopefully they will make the game a little more difficult because I'm having no problem solo'ing all G rank quests. :D My favourite monster so far is defianately has to be Stygian Zinogre it's just so cool - only problem it fights near enough the same as normal Zinogre.

Well, personally I would 'assume' that over 250 hours play time classifies as 'played it', but I could be wrong...

Clearly you all misunderstood my comment. I meant not to slate the game (it's awesome), but I was simply surprised that, having been out less than 4 years, it is already considered a 'classic' game.
