Lego Marvel Super Heroes announced for Wii U, 3DS and DS

Coming to all platforms in Autumn 2013.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes is the second Lego game to be announced in a week. With a release date set for Autumn 2013, Lego Marvel Super Heroes will become the third game to come to Nintendo platforms this year following Lego City: Undercover and Lego: Legends Of Chima.

Set for release on Wii U, 3DS and DS Warner will be hoping that Lego Marvel Super Heroes will be as successful as Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, one of the top 20 best selling games of 2012.

While Lego Batman 2 featured DC stars such as Superman, Wonder Woman and the Dark Knight himself, Lego Marvel Super Heroes features over 100 characters from the Marvel roster, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Wolverine, Captain America, the Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Deadpool, Loki and Galactus.

The game features an original storyline in which Nick Fury calls upon Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine and other heroes spanning the Marvel Universe to save Earth from various threats, including the vengeance of Loki and the hunger of Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds

You'll be able to explore famous locations from the Marvel universe, including Spider-Man's New York, and those beyond Earth.

"We're very excited to bring a myriad of classic Marvel characters to life in Lego form for some fun, family-friendly gameplay in Lego Marvel Super Heroes," said Tom Stone, the Managing Director of TT Games Publishing. "Players will brave the ultimate mission to save the world as they explore famous landmarks in LEGO New York and take the adventure beyond Earth to iconic locations in the Marvel Universe."

Are you looking forward to Lego Marvel Super Heroes?

I had a sneaking suspicion that this was going to happen when I started to see the Lego Marvel sets out in the shops.

Nevertheless very good news, after the brilliance that was Lego Batman 2,I'll be looking forward to this.

This could top Lego Star Wars. Hopefully it will have a huge open world city hub.

I'm so getting this game for 3DS and playing as the Human Torch. Marvel Superheroes are amazing. Especially Iron Man and the Fantastic Four.

As cool as that could be, it won't happen. Lego Transformers don't exist yet, whereas Ninja Turtle sets are coming soon.
