Monster Hunter Tri servers being shut down in April

No more online battles on Wii from May onwards...

Want to play Monster Hunter online? You'll have to buy Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate for Wii U as Capcom have confirmed that they'll be shutting down the servers for Monster Hunter Tri on 30 April.

This means you'll no longer be able to play Monster Hunter Tri online after April. However, Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate is released on 19 March for Wii U and it features on online mode as well as new monsters and new weapons.

Capcom said: "With the new title, there will be a new place for all of you to gather and hunt online with each other, and we hope you will continue to play together on Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate."

Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate will also be released for 3DS in March and although the handheld version of the game only features local multiplayer, you will be able to link it up with the Wii U version and have a co-op battle, one playing on the home console and the other on the handheld.

Are you going to buy Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate on Wii U or 3DS?
