Sniper Elite V2, the number one Xbox 360, PS3 and PC tactical shooter, will be coming to Wii U this year. With a UK release date set for Spring 2013, Nintendo fans will get the opportunity to get behind a sniper rifle in the last days of World War 2.
Released for other formats in 2012, Sniper Elite V2 is a remake of Sniper Elite, a Wii Zapper game that was released in 2010.
Playing as American OSS agent Karl Fairburne, you're dropped into Berlin during the final days of World War 2. Your mission is to unravel the mysteries and dangers of the German V-2 rocket program.
This is a sniping simulator where patience and cunning is rewarded as you have to use your environment to stay hidden and be aware of gravity, wind, and aim stability before taking out your target.
Sniper Elite V2 also boasts a kill cam which shows your kills in graphic detail if you manage to pull off a particularly skillful shot. You'll witness the bullet in slow motion as it enters the body and causes lethal damage. Lovely.
According to publisher 505 Games, the Wii U GamePad has enabled developer Rebeliion to add even greater tactical depth and flexibility - you can tag enemies and booby-traps, track enemy locations and activity and even monitor the blast radius of planted explosives by looking at the touchscreen.
Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion said "Sniper Elite is just the kind of mature game that is perfect for the different mechanics of the Wii U. It's been a challenge to get it right, but thanks to our team and the fantastic support of our partners at 505 Games we believe we've brought the unique gameplay to a whole new platform."
