Toki Tori 2's Tokidex is like Pokemon Snap - Two Tribes

Two Tribes explain the GamePad features

Two Tribes have compared Toki Tori 2 to Pokemon Snap. Writing on the Two Tribes blog, Toki Tori 2 writer Niels said that the Tokidex is reminiscent of the Pokemon N64 game which many fans want to be remade for Wii U or 3DS.

The Tokidex Camera certainly sounds like the closest thing you'll get to Pokemon Snap on the Wii U as it enables you to scan the area around Toki Tori to find creatures and objects using the Wii U GamePad as a virtual camera with a viewfinder. Any creatures photographed will be added to the Tokidex.

Writing on the Two Tribes blog, Niels said: "The Tokidex Camera is a fun little feature, reminiscent of golden oldies like Pokemon Snap. There are almost 40 pictures to shoot and it's a bit of a puzzle to figure out which objects are 'snappable'. Finding everything unlocks a nifty easter egg."

In the same blog, Two Tribes also revealed that you'll be able to play Toki Tori 2 on the GamePad's screen and that a level editor could be added to the game in the future.

"We'd love you to be able to create your own puzzles, and the Wii U GamePad lends itself to this pretty well," wrote Niels.

However, the level editor won't be available at launch. The Toki Tori release date has yet to be confirmed but last year, Two Tribes said it would be with us in early 2013.

Does the news about the Tokidex make you want to buy it?
